"I don't get why you insisted that we all go together," Camila mumbled from the backseat of the car. Lauren clenched her jaw and settled on ignoring the smaller girl, who had been complaining the entire ride there.
It'd been a week since Lauren found Camila in her bunk. A week since they'd had a normal conversation. The tension between them was painstakingly obvious, but no one would dare mention it.
Lauren had apologized to Zayn about the other night. She was thankful he bought her excuse about being extremely stressed. She wasn't sure what she felt for him, but he was sure a nice distraction.
All five bandmates were headed to a party Zayn had invited Lauren to. She figured it'd be nice to go out and do something for once. Somehow, Dinah had been able to drag Camila along with them.
Lauren wasn't thrilled. Granted, she liked to keep an eye on Camila. But because of that, she wouldn't be able to relax at all that night.
"Or just ignore me, that works too," Camila muttered, pulling her knees up to her chest and gazing longingly out the window. The last thing the smaller girl wanted to be doing was going to this party. Especially if it meant seeing Lauren with Zayn. She never realized how painfully jealous she could get.
"You'll be fine," Lauren said coldly, keeping her eyes focused on the road. Ally pulled into the driveway, double checking the address Zayn had given them before parking the car. Lauren heard Camila scoff behind her, but chose to ignore it.
But, she did sneak a glance in the rearview mirror, watching as Camila heard the loud music blaring from the house and bit her lip nervously. Camila took a deep breath, sliding out of the car and smoothing out her shirt. If she was here, she might as well take advantage of it.
"Hey, Laur!" Zayn waved the green eyed girl over once she exited the car. She smiled nervously, glancing back at Camila before jogging over to her boyfriend.
"You've met my friends, right? This is Zach and Gregory," Zayn pulled Lauren into his side and motioned to the two boys with him. He leaned over and whispered something in one of their ears, and they both nodded understandingly. Lauren grew confused.
The boys returned moments later, handing Lauren a red solo cup with some foul smelling liquid. She raised an eyebrow at Zayn.
"Just making sure you get a good drink," he explained. Lauren nodded softly, shaking her cup slightly and watching the liquid move. She wasn't sure if she wanted to drink that night or not.
Just as she was about to take a sip out of her cup, she caught sight of Camila down the hallway. The smaller girl was practically chugging down whatever was inside her cup. Camila never drank. Crinkling her nose, Lauren decided drinking wouldn't be the best idea.
"I'm okay for now," she said quietly, handing the cup back to Zayn. He shrugged and set it down, leading her down the hallway. She watched as Camila disappeared from her view, biting her lip nervously.
An hour passed of meaningless conversation. Zayn toted Lauren around, introducing her to all of his friends. She couldn't remember any of their names, though, she was too busy trying to keep an eye on Camila. It was as if every time she caught sight of the younger girl, Camila had a new drink in her hand. She only prayed that one of her other bandmates would try and get her to stop. She knew if she got involved, it would only make things worse.
"Have you found her yet?" Zayn asked the group of guys they were currently talking to. Lauren tilted her head to the side in confusion.
"Nah. It takes a while to kick in. We're keeping an eye out, though," Gregory responded, scanning the room. Lauren was growing more and more confused by the second.
