Mental health isn't physical.
A mantra of false words sung by each individual, like it is the bible.
Pretending that appearance can determine whether someone is liable.
Tell me is it physical,
When you feel a black hole in your gut.
Wishing that somehow someone can tape that hole shut.
If only for a minute.
Tell me is it physical,
When you can see bags under your eyes,
Shivering at the reflection you have come to despise.
Tell me is it physical,
When it is too painful to leave your bed,
With nothing more than dry tears and words left unsaid.
Maybe the cause is not physical,
But the effect often is.
And by denying people the right to speak freely on this pain,
You withdraw the help available to keep each individual sane.
So tell me again that mental health is not physical.
