(Mallory's point of view)

The next morning and one flight later, Braxton and I landed in Mintoron. The palace of Mintoron sat fifteen minutes from the downtown area of the capital.

"You know your way around these parts." Braxton states, as I drive our rental car through the countryside of Mintoron, "Well, I guess it paid off for me to be a princess, didn't it." I replied.

He chuckles as I focus on the road, "Yeah, I guess so. What's the first stop?"

"A retirement community."

"Haha, funny, Mallory. Seriously, where are we going?"

"I just told you." I say, just as I was turning onto the long driveway, leading me toward the retirement community. I kill the engine, stepping out of the car.

"Who's here?" He asks.

"The former king and queen of Mintoron."

Braxton holds the front door open for me as we head inside. We make our way to the front desk. Offering my best smile, I speak up, "Excuse me?"

"Yes?" The woman replies.

I gesture between Braxton and I and say, "We are here to visit our beloved grandparents, Boone and Raleigh."

"That's odd, considering the former king and queen don't typically have family come to see them."

"Well, with us being a part of the royal family, it's sometimes hard to find the downtime to visit gram and gramps." Braxton replies.

"That's understandable. I could not even imagine what it would be like to be a part of a royal family line." The lady replies. She tells us the room number and releases us, to go on down the hall. I go room by room before I finally spot them.

"If Nellie thinks for one second, I'm taking this medication, she has absolutely lost her mind." A woman says.. I knew the voice all too well from past experiences. I follow her voice toward the room. I knocked on the door that was cracked open. From the little space I could see in between, I could see Raleigh and her husband, Boone, sitting in two hard back chairs.

"Come in." Boone says.

I step inside, with Braxton following behind me. Raleigh looks up quickly from her tabloid magazine titled 'Tell All.' There was a caption below it with a picture of a famous actor stating, 'looking back on the talented Dane Morgan, gone but not forgotten.'

Raleigh quickly throws the magazine down on the table as soon as she spots me, "Now, if this is not some scandal in the making. I love some good drama on occasion." Boone looks up at me in shock.

I gesture between Braxton and me, "I'm Detective Decker, and this is Detective Foyay. We are here to ask some questions."

Raleigh chuckles as she claps her hands together, "Mallory, Mallory, you certainly have come a long way. Tell me, is all that grand wearing a badge instead of a crown?"

"We're not here to discuss politics." Braxton spats.

"That's how it's always been, since the dawn of time. Mallory, you must make this commoner understand."

"I don't have to make him understand anything. He's seen enough just being here in the time he has been."

"I take it that you are on business." Boone states.

"Yes, sir, If I could just have a moment of your time?"

"What could we possibly do for you?" Raleigh asks.
