Shuichi's trying to think about Kokichi and his feelings toward him. He's dating Kaede and he had always thought of Kokichi as his friend. It hurt so much seeing him cry like that.

"He.... Loves me? When? Why? How?" Shuichi thinks trying to understand.

"Shuichi's been really quiet. I wish I knew how to help him." Kaede tells the others as everybody is starting to feel bummed out and lost.

Shindo arrived with Rantaro and Kokichi, who's snuggling Rantaro smiling.

"Ah hello! It's going to be okay now!" Shindo assured them all.

"Rantaro cheered me up!" Kokichi refused to explain why.

"Let's all relax and enjoy ourselves now okay?" Rantaro asked them and they tried.

Kokichi shyly breaks off to snatch Shuichi and pull him away to talk to him alone.

"Kokichi!" Shuichi looks at him in pain.

"Shush. It's not the end of the world for me geez. I'm not going to break just cuz I get a little heartbroken. Who do you think I am?" Kokichi tells him putting a finger against his lips.

Shuichi just holds Kokichi's hand looking at him sadly, "Hey. I'm like going to move on and try and be with Rantaro. So you gotta stop this gloom fest! You got it!" Kokichi tells him.

"I!" Shuichi felt weirdly scared as he clung to Kokichi.

"You're dating Kaede. You can't just like try and see if you have feelings for me. That's cheating!" Kokichi scolding him.

"I...." Shuichi looks at the floor sadly.

Kokichi sighed deeply and gives him a kiss, "Though it's not cheating if I were to come on you and flirt with you if I feel like it." Kokichi teased him.

Shuichi blinked and was surprised that it didn't do anything for him, "Now will you be able to let me go and move on?" Kokichi sighed.

Shuichi stares at Kokichi's hands not wanting to let him go. Not wanting him to move on from him. Yet, he couldn't speak or form any words to even explain himself. Kokichi groaned deeply and looks at the poor completely lost Shuichi.

"Alright..." Kokichi looks away smiling, "I won't give up so easy on you. I get it. So... let's make it a game. Who's going to fall for me first you or Rantaro? Who's heart is going to belong to me. I hope for Kaede's sake you lose, but also... kinda want you to win." Kokichi admits.

"I think if I do this. We can both finally just accept whatever the outcome is. So root for me Shuichi! I'll steal your heart yet!" Kokichi smiled softly at him laughing.

Shuichi smiled at him and nodded, "Yeah. I think if you were to do that. I can finally just accept whatever happens next too." Shuichi admits.

"Nehehe your such a bad boy Shuichi. Who knew!" Kokichi teased him, "I guess you were the secrete player instead of Rantaro. Can't say I'm not a bit excited though." Kokichi laughed and smiled.

"I... I wish you luck." Shuichi nodded.

Kokichi sticks his tongue out at him, "Haha... Let's go back to our friends Shuichi." Kokichi explains.

They returned to them and have a good time with everyone as Shuichi explains they figured it out and everyone is happy for them.

Things were going well after that. Everyone was happy. Shuichi still had a lot of cases to do and somehow Kokichi's giving him presents that show up in the most strangest places. Shuichi started to hunt them down and they even appeared on his case somehow.
