With the whole commotion of (Name) landing a killer blow to Magma's ego (and jaw), the news of the stone-encased angel spread quickly through the Ishigami-Hallstein village like wildfire. Villagers greeted her warmly and welcomed her immediately into their secluded village, gifting her with food and several weapons while complimenting her accomplishment of putting the village bully in his place. (Name) could tell that Magma was a serious menace in the village and in consideration to his warrior pride being shattered, he wouldn't dare to cause trouble for a while. Meanwhile, (Name) struggles with issues far different from Magma.
Having become the bringer of peace in the eyes of the villagers, (Name) was coddled even more in comparison to when she was still stuck in stone. Pushed away from helping out, getting sent away from the fighting grounds, dragged out of the kitchen after only getting the smallest burn on her wings. By the end of the first week, (Name) was lying in her hut, conveniently right next to Ruri's own on the isolated rock where they were planning to hold the tournament for Ruri's marriage next spring. She rolled to and fro on her small bed, after counting the number of feathers on both sides of her wings. A long sigh left her mouth, her computerised head failing to come up with anything to convince the villagers to do any form of work.
An ear-piercing shriek ricocheted through the village, followed immediately by a thunderous explosion. The aftershocks trembled through the rocky earth and forceful waves of explosive power brought the villagers to their knees. (Name) quickly dashed out the hut, surveying the area. The bewildered expressions of the people morphed almost instantaneously into one of disappointment and detestation as soon as they saw the location of the large cloud of smoke.
Kokuyo, the village chief and Ruri's father, was calming everyone down and reassuring them. "Everybody, at ease! It's just another one of Chrome's sorcery tricks!"
"Chrome...?" The angel whispered, puzzled by the mention of a name she had not heard of even after memorising the entire village population.
"He's the village's self-proclaimed resident sorcerer." Kohaku chirps, walking up to (Name), Ruri's following close behind. "He's not allowed to enter the village unless there's a special event or a matter of great importance though. My father in particular is not a big fan of his tricks so he lives near the outskirts of our village perimeter."
"I do hope he is alright..." Ruri's murmurs.
Kohaku and (Name) exchange a knowing glance. No words were needed. They knew immediately what was going on between Ruri and Chrome just by her anxiousness alone. The girl stretched her wings and bent slightly, prepping herself to take flight. "Well then, I supposed I shall see for myself what kind of person this self-proclaimed sorcerer is. See you later!" She winked as she took off into the smokey sky, soaring past the desperate calls of Kinro and Ginro below.

(Name) landed in a small clearing with a tall wooden hut. In front of it was where she could tell the explosion went off, the scorch marks ran wide across the gravelly ground. From what can be seen, a few trees had burned slightly but was taken care of immediately by Chrome. She prowled the area for a good minute, noticing nobody nearby. The fact that (Name) hadn't seen Kinro and Ginro yet told her they were too afraid of coming all the way out here.
Deciding not to waste any time of her limited freedom from the watchful gaze of the village chief, she ventured up into the wooden hut. Needless to say, (Name) was quite impressed. Whoever this Chrome person is, he was able to harvest quite a few chunks of minerals and useful herbs, although they aren't the ones we would be able to cure Ruri's illness with. Hmm? Cure... Ruri's illness... Could Chrome be...?
"Hey! Who are you?" A boisterous voice yelled from outside the hut. "What do you think you're doing in my hut?"
"Goodness me," (Name) chuckled softly, "if not for your words, I would've been completely convinced that you were a certain gorilla friend of mine." She stepped out from the shadows of the hut, peering down at the young man at the bottom of the hut. His body visibly froze and his once confidence gaze and expression melted into timidity as he stammered his words. "You..." she interjected his baffled moment, "...are looking into a cure for Ruri, are you not?"
His stammering faltered. "You know Ruri? No wait, do you know anything about her illness? Anything that can help cure her?" He approached her shakily as she descended from the elevated hut. He grabbed firmly onto her arms with trembling hands. "Can you help me?"
His eyes were watering and he was losing his focus, but it glimmered with tenacious hope. He was basically on his knees begging for her help with pleading eyes, pleading for help... that she cannot give. "I'm sorry..." she looked away, guilt welling up in her chest for shattering his hope. "...I may not be able to help right now. But one day..." (Name) grabbed his shoulder tightly, "...I promise you I will give you a cure that will save Ruri."

Just as the deep reds of the setting sun bled into the orange sky, Kinro came to escort her back to the village and she said her farewells to Chrome after having a short discussion on more "sorcery tricks" that he may be able to pull of. Her most proud moment was teaching him the existence of bubbles. His awestruck reaction was more than enough to make up for her miserable week and she enjoyed herself talking about something from her past, although she could tell her smile dropped slightly as she explained each new trick to Chrome. Memories of her first discoveries and experiments she shared with Senku cascaded into every space of her mind as soon as she spoke about anything that reminded her of him.
A deep coldness shrouded the room. Not the frigid late night winds that blew through the window. Not the chilling feeling she gets of Magma's henchman spying on her every now and then. It was the feeling of loneliness, being left alone in the bustling, unfamiliar, primitive village. No Yuzuriha. No Taiju. No Byakuya. No Lillian... No Senku.
(Name) struggled to keep her writing straight as she jotted down furiously on ways to find the cure for Ruri, ways to break people free from the stone prison, and a way to find her friends. Memories blurred through her head of their blissful times together, fuzzing up her vision as she choked on a sob. Tears fell.
But there was only a lonely young girl in a dark room.
