The next morning quickly arises as I feel buzzing from beneath me
I slowly get up and grab my phone, stopping the alarm that's going off.
"I'm so glad I'm off work today" I mumble before laying back down
"Hey, sleeping beauty, get up and come get breakfast" I hear a familiar voice from the doorway
I lay still, tired from the night before.
Suddenly the bed dips from beside me and I'm being shaken.
"C'mon, your breakfast will get cold" Elias scolds as I sit up and stretch.
"Finally" he whispers and exits the room
"Who pissed in his coffee" I huff before slowly getting out of the comfortable bed and making my way down the stairs.

I enter the kitchen where a maid is cooking
"Um hello?" I look around the massive kitchen noticing all the spices and different ingredients.
"Oh! Mr. Moore is waiting for you in the dining room, Ma'am!" The girl says, she looks no older than 20.
"Thank you" I say
"Well I'm glad at least one person here is respectful" I say under my breath, thinking back to the previous night

I walk into the dining room where Elias is seated
"Sit" he says, scrolling through his phone.
I comply and sit in front of him, patiently waiting for the food to be ready.

'where is my phone?' I think to myself
'it might be in my car, I'll have to go see'
As I stay lost in my thoughts, I didn't realize Elias was staring at me.
"Yes?" I meet his gaze though he doesn't back down and continues staring at me.
He hums a response before going back to his phone.
I return to my thoughts before hearing a click, like a camera sound.
All of a sudden the doors are swung open and in comes the maid bringing in the plates of food.

She sets a plate of pancakes Infront of us and he starts eating as I wait a little bit, slightly nervous.
"What are you waiting for? Eat." He demands
I hesitantly take the fork and knife before eating the pancakes.
Best. Pancakes. Ever.
"Wow these are really good" I smile up at him and he just continues looking at me with a blank stare.
"Okay. Why do you keep doing that?" I question
"Doing what?" He tilts his head slightly
"That weird blank stare you do, it's annoying" I huff before shoving more pancakes into my mouth.

Around 5 minutes pass by before I look back up at Elias but in those 5 minutes I could feel his eyes on me, watching closely the whole time.
I meet his gaze slowly, the clock on the wall is the only noise around.
"So, why do you work at such a lousy place like the bottle grounds?" He says, breaking the silence.
"..it's the only job I could find, not like it's any of your business though" I talk through my teeth, still chewing the amazing pancakes the nice lady made.
'I'll have to get her name later' I mutter and look down to the pancakes before returning my attention back to Elias.
The man stays silent for a while before continuing our conversation.
"Just work here." He looks me straight in the eyes, awaiting my reply
" What?? We don't even know each other!" I yell "not to mention, you must be insane to think I'd work for someone as rude as you "
Elias looks to me, absolutely baffled as if nobody's ever spoken to him that way.
We stare at each other in silence, something we apparently do quite frequently in the short time we've known each other.
"So..you don't wanna work for a handsome, rich man who could give you whatever you wanted?" He says, completely focused on me as if that would get me to change my mind.
"Well you have quite the ego. And did you not listen to what I just said? We are strangers, why would I work for you? I repeat, hoping he catches on that I don't want anything to do with him.
"Well, I'd give you a high paying salary, it's not much work when it's split with other maids and all you'd have to do are menial tasks such as run bath water, bring me dinner and whatnot" he says before adding on "and its a lot easy than a bartender at bottle grounds for whatever low salary they're paying"

Even though he has a good point, we literally just met the other day and he's offering me a job at his house as a maid and I don't know if I'm fine with that.
"But we only just met.." I finally answered after a long pause.
"So? Employers and employees can meet once without even knowing each other's names beforehand and still work under the same roof completely fine, why is it any different in this situation?"

Once again, Elia's makes a good point.
"How much would I get paid?" I question, not making eye contact
"30k per month" my jaw drops as the words easily skip off his tongue
"30k?? " I flinch at the numbers, there's no way I'd be able to make that much at the bottle grounds in years
"What is it? Do you think I'm broke? How about 50k then." He smirks at me, finishing up his food
At this point, my jaw is on the table.
"So, I'll see you on Monday?" He rings a bell that's beside him as a maid comes rushing in to take our plates
"...yea I guess so" I mutter and stand from the table and exit the kitchen with him walking in front of me.
"Have a nice day, ma'am!" The nice lady from earlier, now scrubbing our dishes, calls out to me
"You too!" I reply, knowing soon we will be co-workers.
Elias walks me to my car and waits til I get in before speaking
"On Monday come over at 8:30Am for work. I'll show you around and have one of the other maids show you how to work everything, got it?" I nod and he walks off with a mere 'cya then'

I begin driving, wondering what the hell just happened

(P.s: the bottle ground is the bar that Estella works at or previously worked at now lol.)
