Chapter 80

Maya's POV.

Sandro recovered already, and all glory to God! But still... my bestest friend is still in healing stage.

"Maya, where's my wife?" Tanong agad ni sandro saakin after being discharged of the hospital.

Tumingin muna ako kay Simon at kay tito Bong na rin. I don't know what to say, actually.

"Pop, your promise to me nung nakaraan. Hindi naman natupad" he sound sad. Paano, yung sabi nga namin nila tito bong nung gumising siya is kinabukasan niya pwede ma-visit si Eli pero hindi 'yon natuloy dahil nga hindi pwede at may time lang na pwedeng pumasok sa loob.

"Sandro, the truth is.. eli is not allowed to have a visitor inside of her room. I mean! May time lang na pwede at hindi pwede"

"What do you mean? I thought we have the same condition???"

"Eli had a successful operation, like you anak. Pero.. she needs extra care of her doctors and nurses.  Malala ang impact kay Eli, kaya mas matagal daw ang healing process niya" Tito Bong explained carefully.

"I want to see her." Yun lang ang sinabi ni Sandro, sakto naman at pwedeng bumisita kay Eli ngayon. But this time isa-isa lang daw ang pwede.

Sandro's POV.

"Eli, my wife." I whispered. It's hard for me na makitang madaming gamot ang nakasaksak sakaniya at kung ano-anong machine. That's why one visitor is allowed.
"Love, i am deeply sorry for everything.. i know that everything is my fault." Everything is about the spot i was running for.. and that's what the majority wants me.
"Eli, please wake up. And after this i'll quit the politics, i'll quit everything for you my love.. for your safety and for the sake of our love. Just please wake up" i kept on pleasing her. And i can't help but to be heart broken seeing her like this.

"Excuse me, Mr. Sandro Marcos you have to leave this room already" the nurse told me.

"Give me more time, ma'am" i pleased but she refused.

"We're sorry sir. But we're just following the protocols po." She is sincerely sorry but she can't do anything also.

"Wifey, wake up. I love you so much also to the moon and back" i said before going out.

"Why does this need to happen??"  I said and still thinking of the wife of my life.

"Everything happens for a reason, kuya" Vincent is right but still can't accept this.

The other day, other day na bawal mag visit kay Eli.

"Sandro, uwi ka muna. You're children is waiting for you"

"Maya, i'm waiting eli to wake up pa. Just bring the kids here."

"B-but the kids doesn't know everything"

"Then let them know. They are big and i know that my children could understand everything step by step"

"Fine, i'll call Vincent to bring his niece and nephew."

I kept on looking to my wife through the window of her room. Then i heard a sound from the inside

"Maya, look what's happening inside?" I asked and i'm a bit nervous to be honest.

"Wait, i'll call the doctors!" She run to call the doctors and nurses. At the right time they came immediately.

"Sandro.. i'm afraid of what is happening inside, the doctors makes me panic."

"Shh, calm down Maya" i tried calming her down. Even though i feel the same way.

Ang daming nangyari.. but i saw my children coming in my way.

"Sandra and Ales" i said and hugged them tight.

"Hi dad! We missed you" Sandra said and i kissed her head.

"Where's mommy?" Ales asked.

"Wait, is that mommy??" Sandra saw her mom and had a mixed reaction. "What's happening inside? What does the doctors and nurses doing???"

"M-maya? What's happening???" I asked her. Because as i can see from here that they were recovering my wife. "Vincent what's happening inside?!" I start panicking because i don't know i'm still clueless.

"Ales and Sandra let's go out first and b-buy you some ice cream" pag-aya ng tito nila sakanila.

"No, tito! We're staying. I want to see mom"

"But..." and wala na ring nagawa si Vincent.

"Doc" Maya said with a worried expression.

"We did our best to save the patient, but her heart stopped. Hindi na rin kinayanan ng katawa niya. We're sorry for your loss Mr. Sandro and the family."

My world shut down after hearing those words from the doctor. 

Maya's POV.

"No... no way, doc please revive my bestfriend!" I sound so angry but.. i just can't believe.

"Ma'am, we tried for so many times. We're sorry" the doctor said. "I'll be leaving now, my deepest sympathy."

"ELIIIIII" i shouted, i don't care about the others. Nabigla ako sa narinig nabigla ako sa nangyari. I run to my bestfriend to cry. "Eli, why does this need to happen?? You're a freaking strong girl, eli" i can't help but to cry so loud. "We're not even blood related! But this is a huge impact for me." "You can't just leave us like this eli"

"Mommmmm" i heard the kids crying, i know eli don't want to see her kids to cry. I also need to be strong for the kids.

I moved out and saw sandro sitting on the floor and he's not crying but i know his heart is breaking into pieces.

"Sandra and Ales come to tito please" I heard and saw vinny calling his niece and nephew he is also crying but hindi gaanong halata. Siguro he's just being strong for Eli's children too.

"No, tito! I want to be with mom. Let's go inside please" Sandra is a big girl na and i know she knows everything.. kaya grabe rin ang impact neto para sakanila.

"Go, vincent let them see and hug their mom for the last time" pag payag ko kay vinny. I know how hard is this for the kids..
"Sandro" pero hindi niya ako pinapansin.

After na makalabas na ng hospital sina Vincent ipinaayos ko na rin si Eli kahit na masakit, and hindi katanggap-tanggap. Si sandro andon pa rin sa tapat ng room ni Eli naka-tulala so i called Simon and his parents immediately para mapasama na si sandro sa bahay.
