I got up the next morning and got dressed, feeling great after that sleep. I had a day off training today, so I decided to catch up with the rest of my friends after handing in the paperwork. I'd gotten so busy with work that I hadn't talked with them properly since the evening Hange talked to me. I left the dorms and walked over to the field in front of the training grounds. I saw them in a group sitting down, talking and hurried over.

"Hey Y/N!" Sasha exclaimed when she saw me.

"Hey guys! I haven't seen you all in ages!" I said grinning.

"Where have you been, I never see you around anymore?" Jean asked, looking slightly worried. I exchanged a smirk with Mikasa.

"What are you two smirking about? And what's that badge thing on your uniform?" He said.

"Well, the reason why you don't see me is because, I have extra work. I don't sleep where I used to anymore either. That's because... I've become Hange's personal assistant." I said. I could feel my face getting a little warm after mentioning her name. Just thinking about her made me flustered. Armin gaped at me.

"You mean, Section Commander Hange? The lady who is apparently a crazy scientist?"

"Hey, she's not that bad, Armin! She's really nice to me, fuck, she even gave me my own room! She's not crazy... Just she's very passionate about her work!" I said, a little defensive.

"Sounds like a match made in heaven, then." Connie muttered.

"Connie I heard that," I said, shoving him playfully. "In all honesty, she really is great. And I share the same passion, so it all works out."

They nodded thoughtfully.

"You're lucky you get your own room, Sasha always snores." Historia said after a short pause.

"Hey, shut up Historia! I do not!" Sasha said frowning.

"Yes you do," Mikasa interjected.

"Hey, hey, it's not a terrible thing!" Armin said hurriedly, trying to prevent an argument. I just laughed, happy I had good friends.

"You and Mikasa don't have ODM gear mentoring today do you?" Eren said. We shook our heads. "Lucky. The cadets are actually useless this year, it's so boring."

"Speaking of, I think we need to go now, we'll be sure to have fun teaching these brats." Connie said, rolling his eyes sarcastically. We laughed before everyone excused themselves. Mikasa was left there with me, and I fell back on the grass, enjoying the sun on my face.

"I saw your face going red when Hange was brought up, Y/N. Someone was getting a little defensive against Armin!" Mikasa teased, smiling. I blushed and pouted.

"Yeah, well-" I started.

"Hey, lighten up, I was just kidding! I mean it makes sense..." She said, holding her hands up in surrender.

"Is it really that obvious?" I asked quietly.

"Kinda" she said, "but only I notice, you're my best friend I know you well enough to see when you're catching feelings. The others are too blind to see it."

"Wow, I need to get better at concealing my emotions!" I said, exasperated. "Anyways, I gotta go grab breakfast for Hange. I'm sure she won't mind that it's a bit late, she wouldn't have anything if I didn't bring it anyway. I'll see you later!"

"Okay, see ya!" She said, waving.

I went back to the dorms with Hange's food and rapped my knuckles on the door.
