How To Kill Your Kidnapper (and get away with it)

He's getting really angry now. He presses his temples and takes a deep breath. I try not to laugh.

"You're lucky I saved you, you know." He says and sounds so convincing, I almost believe that he truly thinks that. Maybe he does. But deep, deep down he must know this is wrong. Even if on some subconscious level. Right?

"You're just scared. You make these remarks to get under my skin because that's the only thing that you can do. You know that you can't hurt me. Deep down, you care for me. Everyone has always left you, you make these comments because you're too scared to lay hand on me," he says in a tone that sounds straight out of a horror movie trailer, or maybe a Ford ad. I'm not sure.

"Only because you look like you keep Mcdonald's in business," I say with an edge. I'd punch him but he is partly right, he's practically a body-builder. I couldn't take him if I had the guts to try. I'm a skinny fourteen or fifteen-year-old girl. Has my birthday passed yet? He's getting really angry now. I can see it in his face, he kinda looks like a tomato. I laugh out loud. Crap.

"You're scared to be abandoned by me, just like everyone before me has." He's still going with this rant? He shocks me with the calmness in his voice. He's standing over me now. My god, he's tall.

"If you left me, I wouldn't be that sad," I say, standing up to damage his height advantage. He still has a foot and a half on me though. I'm 5' 6" and he's like a giant next to me. Just when I think I've cracked his armor, he reaches for his pocket looking angry as ever. I'm about to choke out a retort when he puts the gun in my face.
