a/n: if some of you are good at spotting details, you may have noticed that I've changed the title. (the episode from the anime is initially called 'EPISODE 15: devour') its intentional, and this chapter is mostly just about rin and harui's backstory (thus the change in title)
a/n2: i may or may not be changing upcoming chapter titles as well depending on what the chapter revolves around. i do want to focus it around y/n's perspective, but there are some bits from isagi's perspective that i feel like i have to add (like i still want the main plot to be going).

Naruhaya muttered in a low tone with a sly grin, making Isagi shiver. Naruhaya then outstretched his hand towards Isagi as his eyes turned into that of a spiral-like one with an aura surrounding him.
"You can't play it safe here. If you do, you're done. So let's crush each other, Isagi. Our dreams are at stake. Don't chicken out. This is Blue Lock, you know?"

The whistle blew as the scoreboard was now tied, 2-2. Nagi kicked the ball over to Isagi before they both began to run towards Team Red's goal. Naruhaya then came face-to-face with Isagi.
"Hey, Isagi. Do you know why my team wanted to play you?"
Naruhaya asked as Isagi remained silent, furrowing his brows as he stopped dribbling with the ball. Naruhaya then grinned.
"We thought we could beat you, Isagi."
Naruhaya stated, making Isagi widen his eyes in disbelief.
"Huh?"
Isagi tried to dribble it around Naruhaya, but he managed to impede his pass to Nagi making the ball go astray. This gave Barou the chance to retrieve the ball. Nagi furrowed his brows slightly before running after Barou.
