SHAWN SHANE WINSTON POV...

I haven't been myself for the past few days, and I have no idea why. It feels like I'm longing for something, but I just can't figure out what it is. I take a sip of my coffee with a sigh before putting on my blazer and grabbing my briefcase.

I walk out of my penthouse and am greeted by the security outside. I enter my car and drive out, choosing to ride alone today, as I have an important meeting to attend to later.

Getting to my office, I'm greeted by the receptionist, but I ignore her and head straight to my private elevator. My secretary, a male, runs up to me as I step out.

"Sir, you have a visitor," he says, taking my briefcase.

"And you let someone into my office without my permission?" I ask, my voice firm.

He gulps. "I'm sorry, sir. I couldn't stop her. She's with your mother."

I grit my teeth. "Waylen," I warn him.

"Please, have mercy, sir. I really need my job. Please don't fire me."

I sigh, taking the briefcase from him. "Prepare for the meeting in three hours. Has the restaurant been booked?"

"Yes, sir, everything is ready. Should I deliver your coffee now?" I nod, pushing open my office door.

My mother is sitting in my executive chair, and Odeya is sitting cross-legged on the sofa.

"Sit," my mother says.

I drop my briefcase on the desk and sit. "What do you want, and what is she doing here?" I ask, my tone cold.

"Manners, boy," Odeya says. "You shouldn't talk to your mother with no respect."

I glare at her. "A money-hungry bitch like you shouldn't have a say in here."

"Shut up, Shawn," my mother says. "Odeya is your wife-to-be, the mother of the future heir of Winston Enterprises."

I chuckle. "You're ridiculous, Mother. Are you even listening to yourself right now? You sound absurd."

"It's already finalized," my mother continues. "The engagement party will take place in two weeks. Everything is set. All you have to do is buy a ring for Odeya, dear."

Odeya smirks, getting up and walking over to me. "And you will be officially mine."

I'm enraged. "I'm not getting married to a two-faced bitch. She's bewitched you, Mother, but she won't bewitch me."

My mother bangs her hand on the table. "You need to grow up, Shawn. The world doesn't revolve only around you."

"Enough of your nonsense, Mother," I say. "Take her out of my office."

My mother smirks. "Your grandfather will be at the engagement."

I clench my fist. "You won't dare, Mother."

"Oh, I will," she says. "And he's paying a visit to you tomorrow."

I'm beyond pissed off. My grandfather is the only one who controls me, and my mother knows I won't be able to resist when he asks me to marry Odeya. That's why she's using it against me.

Odeya rests her hand on my thigh and leans closer to me. "My ring better be expensive."

I'm furious and push her roughly to the ground. She cries out in pain, and my mother rushes over to her.

"How dare you, Shawn Shane Winston?!" my mother screams.

"I'm going to count to three, and you both better be gone before I call security, and they will drag you both out."
