NADIA FRANCIZEK POV

"For the thousandth time, I don't want to go," I groaned, removing my apron.

She pouted, "Pretty please, Nadia, I really can't go shopping alone."

"I don't have enough money to go shopping; you can go without me," I replied.

"No one asked you to pay. I took Lucas's black card with me because I knew you'd say this," she said.

I sighed, "I can't just leave the restaurant, and I have to be at my other job by 5:30."

"Please, Francesca and the others can handle things here," she persisted.

"Skyy," I drawled.

She huffed, "Come on, Nad's, please."

"Fine!Let me grab my jacket" I exclaimed.

She grins "You're the best!"

I walk into my office, put on my jacket, and grab my purse. I was about to walk out of the office when my eyes locked with the mirror.

He is mine!!!

How long had it been since I last spoke with Shawn? I couldn't remember. I avoided him like the plague, dashing out before he could try to speak with me after preparing his dinner. I received my first pay a week ago and was tempted to quit. How could I continue working with him when I wanted him for myself? He was engaged, and I knew he would never be mine. The constant red flags proved that. He was also younger, and I didn't think I was willing to pursue that.

"You can do it, Nad's. When you've saved enough, you'll leave for good," I told myself, turning on my heels to leave my office.

Skylar was waiting outside, leaning on her car. I took the keys from her, as I loved driving.

"When will you let me get you a car?" Skylar asked after I drove out of the restaurant.

"Never, Sky," I replied.

"You're my best friend; why won't you let me spoil you? You love driving."

I sighed, "I know, but I really can't afford a car right now. And no, Sky, you're not getting me a car."

"Ugh! I'll gift Strojek then, on his birthday," she said with a groan.

I hummed and turned on the radio; we sang along to the songs until we arrived at the mall. I parked the car, and we stepped out, hands intertwined as we walked into the mall.

"I'm buying that dress!" she squealed, seeing a burgundy dress.

We spent hours shopping, and I was exhausted. We stopped to eat before heading to a lingerie store.

"Look what the cat dragged in," I heard, stopping in my tracks.

Skylar and I turned around, and I regretted coming.

"Can you seriously afford being here? Who let you in, anyway?" She smirked.

I took a deep breath, "I don't have time for this; I have better things to do."

"Like what? Whoring around with my fiancé?"

"I'm not a whore. Mr. Winston is my boss; you have no right to insult me."

She stepped closer, "Stay away from my Shawny, or I won't hesitate to make your life a living hell."

Skylar gripped Odeya's arm, "Keep your claws to yourself, bitch, or I won't think twice before smashing your face into the wall."

Odeya rolled her eyes and walked away. I sighed, and Skylar raised an eyebrow at me. I knew what she wanted to hear, but what could I say? That I was in love with a boy who was engaged and eight years younger? She would judge me.
