SHAWN SHANE WINSTON POV
Aaron Aston walked into the room with his secretary beside him. It had been two days since our last meeting, and I was going to give him a tour around the resort today.
"Shall we?" I asked, raising to my feet, and we all walked out together.
It took a while to tour him around, and he agreed to sign the contract. So we walked back into my office, and he signed the contract.
"It was a pleasure doing business with you, Shawn,"
I said, shaking hands with him. "Likewise,"
He walks out of my office and I leaned my back against my seat with a deep sigh. Nadia had been avoiding me for the past few days, and I hadn't had the chance to apologize to her.
I thought to myself, "I think I will go crazy if I don't speak with her."
I had wronged her in so many ways, and it was only natural that she would avoid me, but it was hurting me. I thought this trip would bring us closer, but I had ruined everything, all because I was blinded by jealousy.
A knock on my office door snapped me out of my thoughts, and I muttered, "Come in." Hannah, my secretary, walked in and dropped a stack of files on my desk.
"All these documents need your signature, Mr. Winston. And we also need your approval to push through with the new condominium project."
I nodded, asking, "Are the designs ready?"
"Yes, sir. Brooklyn Designs brought them in this morning. It's the second file, sir, and you can decide what design you want for the condominium."
I hummed, asking, "Is that all?"
She shook her head, "Mrs. Chan found out you are in town and requested a dinner meeting with you."
"Have it fixed for tomorrow," I instructed.
"Yes, sir," she replied.
I turned my gaze to the files, and she exited the office. I grabbed the first file with a sigh and couldn't help but think about Nadia. I really needed to get a grip on myself.
I parked my car in my garage at 7 in the evening. I grabbed my briefcase before making my way into the house. I headed straight to the kitchen, and as usual, she had prepared my meal, but she was nowhere to be found.
I sat quietly eating, and just then, I heard a gasp. I turned around and saw Nadia standing at the doorway, seeming frozen in shock before masking it up.
"Can we talk?" I asked quietly, as she filled a glass with milk and was about to leave.
"We have nothing to talk about, Mr. Winston," she replied.
I stood up and made my way over to her, and I was about to grab her wrist, but she flinched back. My heart sank at what she did, and she didn't say a word, walking out of the kitchen.
"Shit, Nadia," I exclaimed, running after her and catching up with her before she could slam her door shut.
She frowned, "What can I help you with, Sir Winston? Did I do something wrong? Don't you like the food I prepared?"
"You know damn well the reason why I am here," I said.
She sucked in a deep breath before speaking, "I am not in the mood to talk, sir."
I pushed her gently into the room and shut the door. She gulped and took a step back from me, seeing that fear in her eyes reminded me of the fear I once saw in Raven's eyes.
