NADIA FRANCIZEK POV

I ate the dinner Shawn got for me and then headed into the bathroom to brush my teeth. I had a stupid smile on my face; I just felt so happy - I haven't been this way in a while. After brushing, I headed back into my room and plopped down on my bed with the aim to call Strojek and Skylar, because, fuck, I am happy.

I dialed Strojek's number; it rang once and twice before he finally picked up the video call. He looked fresh out of the shower; he grinned at me before taking a seat on his bed.

"Look who finally decides to call,"

I sighed. "I am sorry; I've been caught up with a lot of shit and totally forgot to give you a call."

He hummed, "It's okay, Nad's; I didn't call either, right?"

"Yeah. Are you having a great time over there? I really hope you are making do with the groceries I bought for you."

He groaned, "Don't remind me! I almost burnt down the kitchen when I tried to fry an egg."

"Strojek Francizek!"

He grinned sheepishly. "I am sorry, sis, but I promise nothing drastic happened. Beau and I made up, so she cooks breakfast and dinner for me."

"Well, I am glad to hear that. I will be back home in two days."

"Two? Why back so soon?"

I frowned. "And here I thought you missed having me around."

"Hey! That is not what I meant. I just want you to be happy over there, and you don't need to rush home because of me; I am fine, Nadia, I promise."

I sighed yet again. "I know you are, but the business trip ends in two days."

"Oh. By the way, I dropped by at the restaurant today; it's pretty good despite the fact you aren't there."

"I am glad. Now, head to bed; you have school tomorrow."

He rolls his eyes. "I am not a kid anymore."

"Strojek," I drawled.

He huffs, "Fuck fine, goodnight, sis."

"Night night," and with that, I hung up.

I am glad he is happy and capable of taking care of himself. I lay down on my stomach and decided to give Skylar a call; she picks up on the first ring, and I was welcomed with a glare.

"Sky,"

She scoffed. "Really, Nad's? Really? I had to find out you weren't in Nevada from your workers when I dropped by at your restaurant. You didn't think it was important to tell me? Am I not important to you anymore?"

And there goes Skylar Lockwood, the ever-so-dramatic, but I still love her. "I deeply apologize for what I did, Sky; I am super duper sorry. It was uncalled for; my boss wanted me to go with him to San Bernardino, and he offered me a price that I couldn't resist."

"And? I know there is more to it. You are glowing, girly, and I can see the blush on your face; now, tell me about this boss of yours."

I blushed. "It's nothing."

"Nadia Francizek!! Don't you dare lie to me, you owe me!"

"Ugh, fine! He took me out on a date today, after confessing his feelings to me the night before."

"OMG!!!" She squealed happily.

I flushed more before speaking, "Stop."

She giggles, "Are you being shy? I am really happy for you, Nadia; I haven't seen you this way since that jerk. You deserve happiness, bestie, and I will support you with whatever you decide to do."
