Christen and I were able to not discuss what had come up during truth or drink for a few days, but I could tell she wanted to know more.

One night we were in our rooms, with the lights turned off, staring at the ceiling in silence, trying to get some sleep, when she finally asked me what she had wanted to ask me for four days.

"So... you had a crush on Alex, didn't you?"
"It wasn't a crush, it was more of a... genuine interest. I wanted to get to know her, and not just as friends, to see where it would go, but she is literally married and I just focused elsewhere" I said, not giving it much thought.
"But... did you like her?"
"No. I would have liked her for sure though, if we had gotten to know each other better and she was single."

I looked at Christen and saw her facing the wall, avoiding eye contact.

"And you made out with a girl, uh?"
"I've had crushes on women, I have kissed some women and I have been on dates with other women."
"...and?"
"What?"
"Have you ever slept with other women?" I dared to ask, even if I could tell by her face that that topic wasn't one she enjoyed talking about.

She gave me a strange look, and I caught a little bit of sadness in her eyes, which made me feel horrible for making her feel like she had to tell me.

"Just once."
"Was it bad?" I asked, trying to be as sensible as possible. I didn't wanna hurt her more than she already was.
"No, it was amazing. It was just not meant to be" she shrugged her shoulders, trying to play it cool.

I was lying in my bed, but I was staring at her, worried about her and the things she was feeling once again.

"But it's all good. It happened years ago, I was still in college then. And also, we were both very drunk."
"Fine."

I was still a little concerned, so as soon as she noticed she came closer and opened her arms, getting on my bed.

"Come here."

She lay down beside me and turned with her face a few centimeters from mine. Her beautiful smile was accentuated by the moonlight shining through the curtains right on her face, and the light touch of her hand against my body made me shiver.

I didn't love the attention, but would gladly take it from her: only one of her precious smiles could lighten up my entire day, making me feel in my own heaven.

"Thanks."

I snuggled more into her arms, letting myself show at least a little bit of emotion and love towards her, after suffocating it for weeks. If felt good to have her lying beside me: it gave me a strange sensation of comfort and safety, which was something I had never experienced with anyone before.

"Goodnight, Toby" she whispered in my ear.
"'Night Pressy" I yawned.

We fell asleep on the spot, me inside her arms and her lovingly caressing my hair.
