Chapter 2

"Dawn, we talked about this!" Beorn said angrily, I sighed, "Beorn, I can't just stay in the house for the rest of my life!" I paused and added, "What I mean I can't just stay in the house where I can't see the outside ever again besides I am half elf and half skin changer I know what I'm doing!" I said. Beorn opened his mouth then closed it, of course I did make a point and I always did when Beorn protested to me when he said no if I can't go outside and enjoy myself. Beorn sighed and looked at me. "Okay, I get it. I will make a deal to you, if you beat me in a fair fight I will let you join this whatever." he said. My eyes widened, I was shocked and I know my brother wouldn't just say that unless he would say something like this is it means to...

No, surely he wouldn't say that just because of Sauron getting more power every minute... then it hit me. He said that just because Sauron was getting stronger every time the ring was used. I took a deep breath and nodded. I took out my twin daggers while he shifted into a bear. "I thought it was a fair fight? Oh yeah, I just remembered you don't have weapons to use on me while you were coming to look for me!" I said, teasingly. I knew this fight wasn't going to be easy since he has more experience than me with shifting. We circled around each other for a while and then the first strike was placed.

Beorn had put down the first strike and I easily dodged his attacks. He never knew when he went training I would always sneak off and watch him do his training and I knew his every move which made me smirk at him. My fighting style was mostly defensive but, when I get the chance I go on offensive mode or when I get mad I start to shift in pure rage. This fight was different, I had twin daggers and he shifted into a bear since he had no weapons and that was fair since my animal was too big I would win instantly but he wanted it to be a fair fight so, I gave him a fair fight to win and not lose. Beorn's fighting style was offensive all the time which made it easier for me all the time to beat him. When I go against him in spar matches he would always beat me but he didn't know I had trained long and hard.

My twin daggers and Beorn's claws clashed into each other, I slid them off and went onto offensive mode slashing and slicing at Beron who tried to dodge most of the attacks. I jumped over Beorn and pushed him off his balance as he fell to the ground shifting back and I placed my daggers by his throat. I saw the smirk on his face as I knew what was about to happen. I always see that smirk when we spar which means, He is going for the leg move with that stupid smirk on his face that makes it too obvious! I thought to myself, as I jumped up right in time that his leg move failed and his eyes widened. I was back on the ground as Beorn stood up smiling at me, he walked towards me and hugged me tightly.

"My lil' sis grew so much! I can't believe you dodged that move! Usually I would trick you with that move because you always lose." Beorn said. We let go, and I smiled at him. "Beorn, you forgot the deal we had~ You said if I win you would let me join the journey!" I said excitedly, Beorn looked at me with sadness in his eyes. I know he was remembering what happened a long time ago with the rest of the skin changers. I hugged him tightly and placed a kiss on his forehead as a good-bye. Beorn shifted back into a bear then ran back home, while I saw him disappear into the forest.

A hand was on my shoulder and I turned to see who placed it and it was Gandalf. He looked at me and smiled, I returned the smile to him. "Anyway, what is this journey about?" I asked as I crossed my arms. "It's about destroying the ring of Mordor. It was made in Mount Doom and that's where it has to go to be destroyed. We have to keep it away from Sauron's minions and himself for that is the only thing to make him return." Gandalf explained. I was shocked about myself not being surprised by this information.

I nodded in agreement and was about to shift when Aragorn stopped me. I looked at him in confusion, "We have rides that can help us reach there faster." He said. His voice sounded really kind and brave, I nodded and a horse came running towards me. The horse was really pretty, her coat was a nice dark brown with little specks of white on the horse. She mounted the horse without hesitation. The rest of the group did the same and they proceeded to the mines of Moria.

I shivered at the name of it since I knew what happened to the dwarves but didn't talk about it to make Gimli sad. We traveled for a very long time until we came to a stop to set up camp since it was getting late. I was getting off my horse as two little hobbits came up to me, "Dawn, could you sing us a song please?" One of the hobbits asked who I knew was Pippin because of his accent. I nodded and smiled at them, and they returned the smile to me. I sat down by a tree and they sat in front of me while I was thinking about a song to sing to them.

An idea hit me and I was about to grab a flute but stopped. They wanted me to sing a song! Not just play the flute! I scolded myself, and thought of a song to sing to them. I sang as loud as I could but not too loud so the others couldn't hear me but only the two hobbits but later the last two hobbits joined in listening to me sing.

Legolas turned around and looked at me and finally heard the song I was singing as he walked over and sat in the front making my cheeks grow dark red as he sat down in front of me.

Lovely song I listen to all the time! I encourage you to listen to it, it has a beautiful melody! Anyway getting very interesting.
