She's Back

Chapter 4

Onyx's POV 

When he jumped into my arms, I don't know what it was, but I felt complete.

I felt whole again.

This is the best feeling ever, but the anger is still there. I'm not angry at Sawyer well maybe a little but my mother. How could she do this to me.

All I know is I'm never going to leave this little boy even if it means I follow them back to where they live.

"Sawyer, where do ya'll even live? I searched for you for 2 years. I even hired a PI (private investigator) I never gave up." I say as softly as I could

She has a sad look on her face "We live in Dahlonega, Georgia. I picked it because it's Georgia's holiday town, I wanted Zander to feel loved most at that time."

My heart stopped when she said his name. "Zander? As is my uncle?" I could feel the tears about to escape

She smiles at me but then her eyes dart around "Maybe we should take this somewhere else. I need to get him to bed, and we still have a lot to talk about. Uh Ms. Mae can you tell me how much it is, and can you please put mine in a to-go box?" she ask quickly trying to get away from these prying eyes

"I'll get it for you Sawyer, I'll just meet you at Nonno's so you can get him to bed" I say to her and I can tell she is going to argue with me but I flash a look at her and I know for a fact that she can't say no too

She quickly grabs her stuff and out the door she goes. I look around and jeez "Uh guys, you can stop staring at her now. Ya'll are the nosiest people I've ever met." I huff a laugh

"Okay here is her order in a box and no need to pay it's on the house. There ain't no way I'm letting that girl pay for the first meal she's had here in almost 4 years" I hear Ms. Mae say I don't argue with her because I'd rather live but I stop as I get to the door

"Did you just say almost 4 years? You have to be wrong it's almost been 5 years since she left me" I have a confused look on my face but she has a sad smile on her face

"Baby, she came back here a year after she left to look for you. Your mom found out and lost her mind. You're going to have to ask her the rest it's not my place to say but I will say. You WILL listen to that poor girl and everything that comes out of her mouth." She says with a serious look on her face, and I nod at here

I walk out to my truck with my mind running a million miles an hour

'Did our mom really hate her that much? How did I not see it? How could she do this? What did she say to Sawyer to make her leave? It had to of been something bad because that girl is as stubborn then a bull"

I didn't even realize I was in front of nonno's house until sawyer knocked on my window scaring the fuck out of me

"Holy fucking shit women" I yell, and she starts giggling

'Oh, how I've miss hearing that sound in person and not just on video'

I smile at her, feeling content. "Hey lover boy you gonna get out and give me my food that you're holding hostage?" she ask sassily with her hands on her hips

"Well now that you say that it does smell reeeaaallyyy good. I might just take a small bite" I say with a big smile on my face and her face dropped into a dark scowl

"You touch my food and I'll kill you. Try me, I know people. You of all people should know better then to touch my food" she says with this crazy smile on her face

'Yeah, maybe I shouldn't do that'

I turn my truck off and get out with the food "Will you grab the drinks I don't have enough hands for that" I ask her

She grabs them and we head to the back yard where a fire is going

'Alright I guess we are about to jump into the pass. Let's get this shit show over with so I can fucking kiss her already'
