She's Back

Chapter 8

Onyx's POV 

As always, I wake up before her, sometimes somethings will never change no matter what.

I try to not move a lot because she's draped over my chest, this brings back so many memories. I miss us being an us, I hate myself for not realizing sooner that she wouldn't just leave me without a thought unless something horrible happened. I hate what my mother did to us. I wonder if my dad knows who my mother really is.

I jump out of my head when I realize my phone keeps going off. I reach for it and realize my sister has texted my phone like 100 times.

"Shit" I say a little to loudly.

'Mom knows she's here!'

'She's looking for you.'

'ONYX she won't leave me alone, I'm scared!!'

Before I could ever text her back, she calls me.

"Onyx!! Get to my house now, she won't leave me alone and Jace isn't answering his phone. She's scaring the fuck out of me1" She screams.

I completely forget Sawyer is on me and I jump up looking for my clothes. "What is going on?" Sawyer ask a little out of it.

"My egg holder knows you're in town and is looking for me. She's at Rose's house banging out the doors trying to get in" I say frantically

"Okay, okay calm down tell your sister to go to her garage and sit in her car. Let me get clothes on and make a phone call. I'm coming with you." She says to me.

"What? No, you can't it will ruin the case!" I say to her.

"I don't give a damn, Roselle is my family and I protect family. Besides nonno is out with Zander, so yeah. Let me call my Commander and get this under control." She says and gives me a look that says not to argue with her.

"Damnit, fine. Rose, got to your garage and sit in you car but stay away from windows so she doesn't see you" I tell her and I here a small okay from her.

I hear Sawyer get on the phone with her Commander, "I have to go in, she knows I'm here and is terrorizing Roselle. Yes, I know the risk but I have enough evidence to put her away. I don't give a damn, my evidence is enough to make her an enemy to her 'friends'. Yes, I know what to do if she attacks. Okay, thank you I will keep you updated. My phone will be recording." She turns any looks at me.

"Ok let's go, we have to drive your car. She can't know what mine looks like." She says and I nod because we can't put zander in danger.

We get in my truck "Ok here's what's going to happen, We get there and you go get your sister and tell her to go to your dad's house. You call 911 and say, 'Commander Josh and Lieutenant Hazelwood code 477-12.' I'll talk with your mother and do what I do best." She explains and when she's done we reach my sister's house.

I run to get my sister lucky for me, the door to the garage is unlocked. "Hey sis" I say and she burst into tears "Ok here's what's going to happen you have to drive strait to dad's house. Lock all the doors and do not let anyone inside. Okay?" She nods her head and I go over and over the garage for her. She immediately backs out.

I grab my phone and call.

'This is 911 what is your emergency?"

"This is Onyx Bourbon, Commander Josh and Lieutenant Hazelwood code 477-12" I hear a small gasp.

"Can I have a location?" she sounds rushed.

"3265 Thunder Lane" I tell her, and I look at sawyer.

"Oh shit" I say out loud, after I just saw my mother try to strike Sawyer

"Sir, what is happening?"

"My mother, just tried to strike Sawyer but sawyer has her on the ground right now" I tell the lady over the phone, and I think a hear a sigh of relief.

"The cops should be there in 1 minute sir." I hear.

"Okay thank you" I say and end the call.

I walk over to Sawyer, "Anything you say can and will be used against you in the court of law. You have the right to speak to an attorney, and to have an attorney present during any questioning." She says to my mom.

"The cops are on there way, Mother you just broke a retraining order. I hope jail is fun." I say to her and walk back to my truck before I say anything else.

"Ha! Like I would stay in jail, you have no clue of the power that I hold!!" she screams at me and I smirk but don't turn around.

I can hear the sirens get closer to us as I sit in my truck. I don't know whether to be relieved or not. I feel like my whole life was a lie. I really hope my dad never knew who she was or else this could change a lot. I don't remember meeting my mom's parents so hopefully they don't know that she has 2 kids

After 30 minutes of sitting in my truck Sawyer finally comes and sit with me. "Are you okay?" she ask me and I turn and look at her with glossy eyes

"Honestly, I'm not sure. I feel like everything is just falling around me and I can't do anything to stop it. I just wish I could go into the past and change things. You remember the day that you left, we were suppose to go on a date when I got back from work?" I ask her and I see her nod her head 'yes'

"I was going to propose that day. I had everything planned out. We were going to go eat at 'The Place' which is where we had our first date. Then after we were going to take a trip down memory lane, go to the first place we met, where I first fell in love with you, where I first told you I love you, and finally I was going to take you to our spot but then I got home and you were gone. I didn't know if you were just late from work so I waited until 10:00 pm waiting and then I went to where you worked and they said you left early because you said you had a doctors appointment. I went to your grandparents' house. I went everywhere I could think of you being and nothing. You just left with no goodbye, no note. I was so confused and broken. I was so broken that I had to move back into my parents' house and sell our first house because I couldn't afford it anymore." I tell her with tears coming down my face

I feel her wipe my tears away and she kisses my forehead softly. "It was never your fault, no one knew that this would ever happen. Your uncle wanted to come up with a plan for you to see the birth of Zander but I went into labor out of nowhere. My birth was a very traumatic thing, something I wish on no one. Your uncle told me that I was screaming for you and that he needed to call you. I was so scared but he couldn't get ahold of you and at that time I didn't have anything else to do except give a note to him and if something happened to me to give it to you. I told the doctors and nurses to do whatever they have to do, to save Zander." She couldn't even finish because she was crying so much

"But nothing had happened to you, nothing bad will ever happen to you. I won't let it. You have been protecting me it's my turn to protect you" I tell her
