She's Back

Chapter 1

Onyx's POV

                  Four years ago, the love of my life left me and today July 20th she's coming back. The downfall is, she isn't coming home for me. Her nana just recently passed and she's here for the funeral. She was extremely close with her nana because she was like a mom to her. After Sawyer's mom passed in a horrific car accident 6 years ago, everything changed for her. Her dad was MIA and presumed dead when she was a baby. I feel like she felt lost and one night she just left with no goodbye, no nothing. It broke me.

That was until her grandfather came to me last year and gave me a letter. From her. Dated the day that she left me.

            "Dear Onyx,

I'm so sorry. I can't say bye in person, it's too hard. I knew if I even tried you would convince me to stay, and I can't. Some thing happened the week before I decided to leave, I'll tell you in person if or when I see you again. Just know I will always love you. You were my first love, my first everything and nothing will ever change that.

If you fall in love again just know, you are worth everything don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Believe in yourself, follow your dreams, never give up. You are smart enough to accomplish anything you set your heart on. Become the architect that you have always wanted to be. Design your first house. Be the hopeless romantic I know you are, don't hide away

                         I wanted to call her so bad when I got that letter, demanding answers but I couldn't bring myself to hear her voice. I would of broke down. Anytime I think of this girl my heart is on my sleeve. I've tried everything to get over her because I just can't. She is my one and only.

I was always close with her family; they treated me like a son and when she left nothing changed that. When Nana Roselle past it was like I lost a family member that day. It crushed me even more when I realized I was going to be the person to break the news to Sawyer.

I will never forget the last words Rose said to me

"When you see her again, you must forgive her and understand why she did it. You will also have to understand why we didn't tell you. Promise me you'll let her explain everything to you before you make up situations up in your head"

I have no clue what she was talking about, but I promised her anyways

Luckily, I think Papa Nixon saw the look of fear on my face when I realized that he said he would do it and here we are 3 days later I was informed by Papa that she was coming home                         

                                       I thought I was going to shit myself when he said that
