Training was not over yet, we all sat around in a circle. It was time they learn sign language, it is essential to communicate under the water.

We started off with basic phrases like 'thank you' and 'please'. Neteyam and Tuk sat on either side of me.

"This is thank you," I say as I motioned my hand, the Sullys all watched. "Now you guys try."

I watch Tuk sign first, she did so ideally.

"You are a fast learner Tuk." I smile, she grinned wide.

I turn to Neteyam and watched his attempt.

"Good. But.." I grab his hand. "Your thumb goes out, not in." Fixing it to the correct position. He nodded, hiding his face a bit.

Tsireya helped Lo'ak and Kiri, Ao'nung just sat around with an attitude. It had been about 30 minutes into teaching and the Sullys were picking up quick, I was impressed.

"A baby could sign that." Ao'nung commented.

"Ao'nung." I throw sand at him.

He laughed at his own remark.

"I bet you can't even climb a bush!" Tuk stuck her tongue out. I cover my mouth to hide my laugh.

Ao'nung rolled his eyes. Neteyam was clearly ammused by Tuk's comment too.

"You both are doing amazing." I reassure them after Ao'nung's negative words.

Soon training was over, Kiri approached me.

"Y/n! About this morning, I am ready when you are." She referred to me showing her around.

"Then let us go now." I say, she smiled.

"Go where?" Neteyam asked.

"Y/n is gonna show me around the reefs." Kiri replied, the excitement was clear.

"Join us." I smile.

"I want to go too!" Tuk chimed in.

"Ao'nung, you too." I say.

"Why do I have to." Ao'nung replied, visibly annoyed.

"Come on!" I say. He groaned, still complying.

Tsireya and Lo'ak seemed to have plans of their own. We all made our way to the further side of the shore. There were many creatures that live there and it was surrounded with trees, although not quite as impressive as the forest the Sullys were from. I lead them.

"Shh," I raise a finger to my lips. "Look." I whispered as I pointed ahead of me.

In front of us were lizard like creatures we call ikki. (Eek-ee)

"Those are ikki." I say.

Everyone took in the beauty of the creature. They were quite big, their throat was rounded like a toad, a beautiful shade of blue with large round eyes. Adorable to say the least. Kiri seemed to be the most intrigued.

"They are so cute!" Tuk whispered in a squeak. I softly giggle.

"We have ikki trainers in our village. These creatures can mimic sound, we often are accompanied by them during our rain festivals." I explain.

"Rain festivals?" Neteyam asked.

Just then Ao'nung stepped on a loud branch sending the ikkis running further into the trees. Everyone looked over at him, his arms raised as if to surrender. I laugh.

"Tell us about the rain festivals y/n!" Tuk jumped.

"Here in our village, we celebrate the rain fall. It is water borrowed from the ocean, returning to nourish our plantation. We believe it is a gift from the sea," I say. "We have a feast with the whole clan. Myself and others in this village perform a series of traditional dances with vocals where the ikkis are used to harmonize." I further explain.
