Chapter 10

"Hey Lina?" Colette's soft voice called me. I turned and smiled at the smaller girl.

"Hm?"

"I was wondering if maybe you'd want to see a movie this weekend?" She quickly looked down. The corners of my lips turned up.

"Sure. What movie?" I asked shutting my locker door. Colette fell in step beside me, her hair blowing behind her as she walked.

"I was hoping you would suggest one actually." Her laugh was like a bell, clear and musical. I laughed along as I pushed the doors to the school open. Warm air hit my face, I sighed, I truly hated summer. The hot weather, bugs, and general sweaty-ness.

"We could go to the Lotus Theatre." I suggested, brushing stray strands of hair from my face.

"What is that?" She asked, fanning herself.

"It's an awesome retro theatre, they're playing Invasion Of The Body Snatchers this Saturday."

"I've never seen that." Her comment stopped me in my tracks.

"You haven't seen Invasion Of The Body Snatchers?" I was incredulous. Colette only shook her head, those blue eyes wide. "Well we've got to fix that! We're going this Saturday. Bring Seth too. I'll get Bram, we'll make a day of it." She smiled, really smiled.

"Col!" Both of us turned to look at that smirking brother of hers. "Hey Lina." He looked at me.

"Garth." I replied, turning my nose up.

"You wound me." He said, placing a hand on his heart, pretending to hurt. I rolled my eyes but a smile escaped.

"Well I'll see you this Saturday." Colette mumbled turning away. Her brother caught her arm.

"Whats going on Saturday?"

"Me and Lina are going to watch a movie with Bram and Seth." She replied.

"Count me in." Garth smiled.

"Oh no no no no no no no." I said.

"Too late! See ya Lina babe!" He steered Colette to his Jeep where Seth and Spike were waiting. I sighed and walked to the car I borrowed from Bram. The lucky bastard got to skip school, some ancient vampire meeting. (I call bullshit, he's just too lazy to come.) I pulled into Alexander's driveway after a few minutes. Someone really needs to mow the front lawn. Slamming the door I walked into the large house, the sounds of simulated gunfire came from the rec room. Sure enough there was Bram, sitting on the floor in front of a large flat screen tv.

"How was your vampire conference?" I yelled over the noise. His muscles tensed as he turned.

"Heeeeeey Linaaaaa..." He laughed nervously.

"Yeah, vampire conference my ass." I slammed his keys on a nearby table.

"Look I needed a brake, that's all." I smiled and shoved him playfully.

"So guess what."

"What?" He asked looking increasingly interested.

"You, me, Colette, Seth and Garth are going to a movie this weekend."

"Garth?" His eyebrows shot up.

"And who is this Garth character?" Alexander's fluid voice driffted down from the top of the stairs. He soon came into view and sweet baby Jesus was he attractive. He updated his wardrobe, wearing jeans that hung dangerously low on his hips and a tight black t-shirt. Tom Hiddleston help me. I thought turning to face him.

"He's a boy from school." was all I said. One dark brow rose as he glided toward us.

"What kind of boy?"

"An incredibly attractive boy." I replied. That got a rise out of him. A muscle popped in his jaw.

"I want to come."

"Ooo sorry, see, sunlight doesn't quite agree with you does it?" I bit my lip and looked up at him through my lashes.

"My my, aren't you a little testy today?" He tsked and looked at Bram. "You skipped school. Again."

"And the award for pointing out the obvious goes to-"

"Enough." Alexander interrupted. A black shadow ran by. Just as it passed Alexander his jeans had four new rips. "I'm going to kill that damn cat!" He growled. I laughed and scooped Dexter up.

"You'll do no such thing." I walked up the stairs, my heart beating furiously in my chest. I need to stop thinking if him. I tried. I failed.

"Yes?" The woman asked not looking up from her book.

They have found the girllllllll

The woman's head snapped up. "They have?"

Yesssssss. Ssssssoon sssssshe will be ourssssssss

A wicked smile slithered onto the woman's blood red lips.

You will get the revenge you crave Mistressssssss

A deep, wicked, laugh bubbled up from somewhere within the woman. She was ready. She couldn't wait to rip the little bitch apart.
