The street was deserted more than Lydia thought it would be, though she shouldn't have expected anything different when it was Theron that wanted to meet her, and he was impossible to find unless he wanted you to.

She realized why Asher wanted to leave not long after they brought the food; Mardiac was in a different part of the Alenris. Theron knew she'd bring Asher along, knowing she didn't know the city that well. The walk there took up some of the time they had left to meet on time. It made her wonder what else he knew about her without her knowing.

Did the man watching her report everything she did back to him?

"Are you sure about this?" Asher questioned, glancing around them for the fiftieth time.

"Do I have a choice? It was rhetorical, don't answer that. He knows something, and..." she trailed off at the end, wondering if Asher would understand the feeling she had about Theron.

He was a mystery she wanted to unravel, and not just in bed. There was an air around him she remembered that there was more to him than the eye could see and no one seemed to know where he came from. It was the forbidden apple no one should pluck, and plucking it was exactly what she wanted to do and bite into it, to taste its succulentness.

Asher hummed in reply. She didn't think he fully understood and reminded herself to sit down with him later. She had talked to him about her desires for Theron and him, the latter being more prominent than the former, yet doubt always crept into one's mind. She never thought of a polyamorous relationship and she couldn't say it would ever go that way until the time came, but she wouldn't be against it if the ones involved were also on board.

She didn't want Asher to feel insecure, or second in her life, not that he ever could with how he cared and stuck by her. Her words wouldn't mean much, so she'd have to show him just how much he meant to her in the little time they were together.

"Asher-"

"It's too quiet," he cut her off, pulling her closer to him as they walked.

She didn't notice it as they walked, though she figured deserted streets would feel as eerie as it did when they were meeting someone just as mysterious. She glanced around her, not noticing anything that stood out to her eye, but she trusted Asher's senses.

"I thought it was normal for these parts."

"It usually is. Something just doesn't feel right, though."

She didn't reply to voice the anxiety that took over, knowing he'd turn her around and leave. If she didn't meet Theron tonight, would she get another chance? Or would it take days for him to contact her again?

It didn't take much longer to reach the building Asher said would be empty. He took the lead, opening the door, stopping abruptly, making her run into him.

"Why'd you stop?" She questioned, peering around him. Her eyes widened as she took in the scene in front of them.

"Well, we meet again, huh? I've seen you two around a lot lately."

The knight they'd run into three times stood with a smirk on his face with four more knights at his side. He was tall, maybe a half a foot taller than her, yet his clothes looked to be built for him. They clung to his body like a second glove without restraining his movements in the slightest. The others looked close behind him with either lean or muscular build.
