Point Place, Wisconsin
July 3rd, 1995
11:47 a.m.
Location: Jackie Burkhart's Kitchen
I WAS IN THE KITCHEN, making myself a sandwich because apparently I'm the only one in this household to overslept. Jay was apparently at work already while Betsy who was home from college was out with her friends and neither had the decency to wake me up before they left. I was humming to a tune I had earlier this week when I heard someone else joining my humming causing me to spin around at the unexpected noise.
"Good morning, little devil." The intruder greeted me much to my surprise since I thought she was already out of the house
"Morning, Aunt Jackie." I greeted my aunt back, before spinning around to focus back on my task of spreading mayonnaise on my sandwich
"Don't forget, your dad is coming back today from his work in just a couple of minutes. You go get ready, and I'll finish making your sandwich." Aunt Jackie instructed me, going to the fridge to pull out the ham and cheese
"Thanks, Aunt Jackie." I thanked the black-haired woman, giving her a kiss on the cheek before I rushed out of the kitchen to go to the bedroom that Betsy was sharing with me for the moment
I entered the bedroom and shuffled through my duffel bag to find a nice outfit. After a couple of minutes, I found some black shorts and a green crop top with a black flannel that my grandfather gave me for my birthday with my black flatform shoes. I decided to quickly comb my hair and place it in a ponytail before making my way downstairs to where Aunt Jackie was.
"Hey, Jude-Bug." Those were the first words I was greeted with once I entered the kitchen and my eyes immediately headed towards where the voice came from
"Dad, you're back!" I exclaimed happily, rushing over to give him a huge hug since I hadn't seen him in basically a week due to his work
"I am. Burkhart was telling me that she just made you a sandwich for the road so we can head out back home." Dad told me, nodding his to where Aunt Jackie was, placing two sandwiches in a ziploc
"There's two, one for each." Aunt Jackie informed me as she passed them to me and I accepted it, stuffing it on top of my bag
"Bye, Aunt Jackie." I gave her a hug, not wanting to let her go since she's been my mother figure these past few months i've been at Wisconsin
"Bye, little devil." Aunt Jackie said to me softly, hugging me tightly before she released me, planting a kiss on my forehead
**HEY JUDE**
"You know, Kitty called me earlier, said that Leia was coming today to visit for a few days." Dad informed me and I hummed, nodding my head in acknowledgement
"I'm going to drop you off at the Forman's so you two can catch up, I'll be home resting today so that the Kelso's can party tomorrow." Dad revealed to me and I glanced him, not wanting to part from him but I saw the bags under his eyes now, darkening as time passed by
"Ok, dad, I'll even stay the night since I forgot my keys at Uncle Kelso's." I told him softly and he glanced me, giving me a soft smile before a realization crossed his face
