[ chapter three ]

NATE AND I WERE ALONE DOWNSTAIRS in the basement, lost in each other's lips. I pressed myself closer to him and he rubbed his arms up and down my back, before messing with my hair making me whimper into his lips. I placed my hands on either of his face just as I felt him take off his right hand from my back momentarily before it found itself back to its spot.

I let my right hand trail down his side, and slip underneath the back of his shirt, letting my nails gently roam the area. I grinned into the kiss as I felt him bringing me closer with his left arm. I whimpered into his lips quietly when I felt his right hand disappear in my back for a few seconds.

Nate shifted slightly to stand up straighter and I wrapped my arms around his neck so we could adjust to our new positions. He pressed one leg between my legs and I wrapped my right leg around his, bringing him more closer. I felt him gently tug my hair back and I let my hand find itself underneath his shirt, gently scratching him with my nails causing him to tense much to my pleasure.

We did a second or two for a few breaks before lips found its way back to one another. I could his fingers roaming against the sides of my body, finding the flesh due to the midriff outfit I had on. I couldn't help but gasp at the sensation as we separated, no longer kissing but we maintained the eye contact.

"God, I hope he's real." I heard the familiar voice of Nate's younger sister, Gwen, say in exasperation causing me to freeze in his arms

"When did you guys get here?" I asked the circle nervously, separating from my boyfriend to take a few steps towards the yellow couch

"We were making out." Nate announced happily to the group, walking up to me so he could wrap his arm around my shoulder

**HEY JUDE**

"Babe, I think you might be having a reaction to one of my Lip Smackers." I told Nate nervously, fiddling with my fingers as I stared at his swollen lips

"Really? I feel fine." Nate told me with a shrug and I blinked once more, unsure how to respond to him

"That was a disaster. And I'm on a list now, so I can't go back. What if I need new shoes?" Leia luckily saved me by barging inside with Gwen and Ozzie both following her

"What do you mean, 'what-if?'" Ozzie bluntly asked her and I leaned to the side to see Leia wearing her Mary Janes with white socks

"Whoa, gross. Why does your mouth look like a monkey's ass?" Gwen asked her brother making me sigh in relief but I wrinkled my nose at her description

"A monkey's ass? Like, in a good or bad way?" Nate asked her nervously, and I smiled slightly at him, patting him in the arm

"Um, there's never a good way, babe. Come on, I so do not want to talk to grandma about your lips so we should get you to urgent care, especially if you're not feeling." I stood up from the couch, tugging Nate's hand so he could stand up as well

"I was comfortable." Nate pouted at me and I glanced between the couch and him before my eyes found his lips again

"Nope, we're going." I decided, guiding him out of the basement and I patted his pockets to feel for the keys of his van

**HEY JUDE**

Nate and I were on his bed, just relaxing in each other's arms after the day of making out we had. I let out a yawn and snuggled closer to the warmth that was Nate. I grinned up at him, no longer seeing the redness of his lips but they were still swollen.

"Hey, you." Nate greeted me with a small smile, and I nodded back at him, not wanting to break the moment

"Should we go meet up with the circle for bowling?" Nate asked me curiously and I laughed, burying my head onto his chest

"No, babe. The bowling alley's closed. They ran out of balls." I lied to him on Leia's request since she wanted to spend time with Jay by herself but she didn't let that part be known so Jay had invited us to tag along

"That sucks." Nate commented to me and I let out a hum in agreement, letting out another yawn but I did my best to hide

"You're cute when you're tired." Nate complimented me and I shook my head in disagreement, sitting up on his bed

"No I'm not." I answered him with a slight glare but he wasn't deterred by it, all he did in response was sit up as well

"Yes, you are." Nate said to me before giving me a soft kiss on the cheek and I smiled, throwing my head gently against his headboard

"I can see it in your eyes, Jude. That's why I think you should get home before your dad ends up running around town looking for you before he finds you in bed, with me." Nate softly said to me and I nodded my head, knowing that he was right

"You're amazing." I whispered to him, planting a kiss on his cheek before pressing another one down at his neck

"No time for romance, Jude. You're tired. Do you want me to walk you?" He asked me, and I lifted my head from his neck, staring at him

"Nah, babe, you should rest." I answered him softly, caressing his soft cheeks for a few seconds and he smiled up at me making me giggle

**HEY JUDE**

"Leia tried to kiss me." Jay panted heavily as he ran up to me, catching me in the sidewalk as I made my way back home

"She tried?" I asked him innocently even though I knew about the plan but what surprised me was his wording, emphasizes on 'tried'

"Yeah, but I don't want to be just a meaningless summer hook up with her. She's great, cute and smart and interesting so I didn't kiss her at her request. If it's gonna happen, it's gonna happen, it's fate and it will be amazing." Jay swiftly said, placing his hands inside his pockets as he stared at my grandparent's house before looking down the street

"Jay, that's really sweet. You're a romantic at heart." I told my cousin softly, nudging him on the arm as his cheeks darkened

"I know I keep thing bottled up but underneath this cool exterior, there is a sad human being." Jay said, deflecting my words and my eyes widened in shock

"You must really like her, Jay. How are you so smart yet dumb? You could've kissed her earlier! And maybe, just maybe, you two would have been a couple right now." I told my cousin in disbelief as I shook my head, trying to process the fact that both Jay and Leia actually had crushes on one another

"No, I don't think the moment is right. We're both gonna know when we'll kiss." Jay defended his actions making me smile that Jay had an actual crush instead of a fling like usually

"You're so spiritual, Jay. I hope you'll always be like that. That nothing in this world would ever break your heart." I confided in Jay quietly, wrapping my arm around him to give him a hug
