Chapter 2 ^3 years later^

Sweat was rolling down the back of my neck as I threw the man to the floor.

" one more round" I called to the mirror that I knew was a one way so that they could see me.

" that was your fourth this hour cc I think you should take a rest" Raquel's voice said through the speaker

I kicked the man on the floor and he groaned unconsciously.

" the heads want me to train so why not let me?" I said anger making my voice rough

The "heads" as I called them were the leaders of the corporation, the O.D.D. They said that they were impressed by my skill and endurance. I was tested for strength but they couldn't figure out why I could do what I could. They didn't have an explanation for why I could take a full grown man down in less than 7 seconds with nothing but my bare hands or a small knife if I was lucky.

" yes they want you to train but not this hard" Raquel scolded stepping into the room through the metal sliding door.

I rolled my eyes

" they aren't forcing the training on you carter. The heads know what you can do" she said her voice suddenly soft

I backed away when she tried to put her hand on my shoulder.

" I know." I said harshly " but I want more"

Raquel just nodded her eyes showing concern. I turned my back on her because seeing her like this was hard. Her eyes had held the same look my mothers had before I had a soccer match or even when I had been injured but I went back in cause I thought that I had let her down ignorant to the fact that she would love even if I had lost the game. I squeezed my eyes shut willing the pain to leave and my heart to heal for a few seconds.

" call in another round, level 7" Raquel said into the speaker by the door

My heart leapt at the thought of fighting a level 7 since my highest had been a 5 and that was supposed to be hard for a fully trained agent.

I shook myself loose as I heard Raquel talking to the person behind the mirror who I assumed was Renee my personal advisor.

" just a dagger, 4 inch hilt and 5 inch blade" I heard Raquel say and I leaned in to hear more

" okay we're good to go the dagger is in the slot and the level 7 is outside. It's just duke so we don't have to worry" Renee whispered so that I couldn't hear but I did and now I was frustrated cause they were gonna give me someone easy. Not that a level 7 was easy i used the term "easy" a lot for the people that didn't actually fight. They just let me punch and beat them up and occasionally pushed me lightly. It was just sad and I eventually knocked them out in frustration. They had finally bumped me up to a five last week and he had actually fought a little, but I still won within 30 seconds.

" I want to fight for real" I said loudly to Raquel

She turned and smirked "don't worry he doesn't like to play with his food"

I huffed at her statement crossing my arms in disbelief.

" fine don't take my word for it, but I guess since he's your first upperclass you can be stubborn" she pointed her index finger at me "but oh you just wait till he whoops your butt" she said warningly

"Oh alright" I said faking surrender however when I turned around I rolled my eyes.

The levels of an agent depended on his or her strength agility and brain. Levels 1-3 were considered lower class 4-6 middle class and 7-10 upperclass. The majority of the O.D.D.'s agents were in the 3-7 range. Then after that you had the undetermineds, this is we're I am. The heads couldn't decide we're to put me and they wouldn't even tell me my own test scores.
