CHAPTER FOUR
𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐛𝐨𝐝𝐲 𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐚 𝐂𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐧⛧⛧⛧
The death of John Winchester affected everyone. Dean the most. It's been a week and he hadn't shed a tear yet which made his brother worry about him. When would he finally break down? Or if he was even sad about the death of their father.
Odessa was a mess, but she didn't show it. John had been the only type of father figure she had in her life. He was more of a father to her than her own. Her mind was swamped with the words of John Winchester, the things her father had told him. She had so many questions... Why didn't her father just tell it to her? What made John Winchester so special that he got to hear those words from him and not her?
She didn't know whether to believe them. Whether to believe that her father actually loved her. That he was actually proud of her...
The key John had given the huntress confused her. She had more questions. Questions she knew she wouldn't get answers to. She didn't know what it was for, or how important it was. The fact that she didn't know was making her go crazy. She didn't know where to start.
Why would her dad just leave something like this for her without an instruction manual? What was he expecting her to do with it? Why would he leave her something in the first place...
Sam looked more fine than Dean and Odessa. He was grieving, but he was handling it better than they thought he would. He still questioned what Odessa and his father talked about, seeing as she was the last person he talked to. But he didn't ask her. He didn't want to assume anything.
Odessa mostly just stayed in the extra room Bobby had offered her staring at the key or going through her father's hunter's journal. The only time she'd interact with anyone was when Sam had come to give her food, sometimes staying with her and talking about anything other than his father's death.
They mostly talked about Dean. Questioning whether he was okay or not, or if they should try and talk to him. But anytime either of them did, Dean would shut them out, giving them short answers.
The huntress stands in the kitchen of Bobby's house, putting two aspirin tablets into her mouth and downing it with some beer.
"You think that's a good idea?" Sam asks, walking into the kitchen.
"No better way to get rid of a concussion than trying to get drunk," She says.
Odessa turns to look out the kitchen window, her eyes fixing on Dean who stood by the table filled with tools, the clanking of the metal being the only sound outside as the hunter goes through them.
"You talked to him yet?" She asks Sam who shakes his head.
"Tried to. You?"
The redhead sighs. "Every time I do to he changes the subject" She turns to the youngest Winchester. "I'm worried about him"
