Kates pov:
"Is that right?", cooing at the little girl who has just told me her mommy has decided to let her get a puppy.
The little girl nods enthusiastically with a sparkle in her eye.
Chuckling softly, I look over at Charlotte, slightly smiling as I admire her beauty that has not faltered even through all of the stress she's going through.
Since the incident with Aalayah and Winston, the school board has gotten involved and they're now questioning Charlottes ability to take care of the children.
There have been countless meetings between Charlotte and the members of the board, as they are now viewing her as incompetent for not being able to diffuse the situation before it escalated.
That all has really taken a toll on Charlottes mental health, as she is so sensitive to peoples opinions and takes them to heart.
And there's also the thing about her being quite worried about Zara.
Zara hasn't attended daycare in over a week. She contemplated making a drive to her house, but decided against it, instead leaving multiple voicemails to her home.
"Ms. Kate?" A little voice distracts me from my thoughts. "Hm?" I look over at the little girl. "I got to go potty" she says and begins to squirm around slightly.
"Okay darling, let's go to the bathroom." I stand to my full height and grab ahold of the little girls hand as she stands up.
Walking her to the bathroom, I slightly slow down, having her walk ahead of me a bit so I can look at her bottom and make sure she hasn't wet herself within the few minutes we've been walking.
Sighing in relief, we make it to the bathroom and I stand outside, waiting for her to do her business. I hear the toilet flush and the sink turn on, indicating she's washing her hands.
When she comes back out I ask her if she's used soap, to which she nods her head and grabs ahold of my hand as we walk back to the classroom.
