Chapter 8

Alex follows quietly behind me into the house. My mother, is right at the door to meet us. "Mika," she whispers.

"Mother," I whisper back, kind of annoyed that she let Andy into the house. She knows we're not together.

"Why'd you bring him?"

At that I drop my bags into the floor, roll my eyes, and storm into the kitchen. Andy is shocked to see me rush over to him. Little does he know that it's not for a good reason.

"Get the fuck out," I tell him somewhat calmly.

"Uh-no?" Andy questions.

I try to control myself as Alex walks into the room with mama behind him. Andy glares at Alex.

"What the fuck is he doing here Mika?" Andy questions me.

"He's my boyfriend. He can be here if he wants to be," I tell him.

Alex seems relieved when he hears me say that. Andy on the other hand is furious. He stands up and storms over to Alex. Alex backs up a bit.

"Andy," I shout.

Andy stops heading towards Alex and heads back to me. Then he swings at me. I manage to miss his punch and he's met by Alex's fist.

"Alex don't!" I shout as Alex gets ready to hit Andy again. Alex thankfully controls himself and backs away. "Please just go Andy," I tell Andy.

Andy pushed past Alex and mama and leaves. I let out a sigh of relief. "Well, my name's Fortune," my idiotic brother says to Alex.

Alex lets out a small laugh and shakes his hand. "Alex," he replies.

"Mika, next room. Now," mama demands from me. I get a worried look from both Fortune and Alex as I leave the room with my furious mother.

I'm met with a undeserving slap to the face. "Get him out of here! Now!"

"No mama!" I reply to here. "And lower your voice!"

"Don't tell me what to do Michael Holbrook!"

"Why are you acting like th-" I'm met with another slap. At this point I'm confused, angry, and upset as a tear slips down my cheek.

Mama doesn't say another word. She grabs her things and leaves. I sink to the sofa as Mel runs over to me and smothers me with kisses.

"What happened?" Fortune asks as he and Alex creep into the living room.

"I have no idea," I whisper as my hand still rests on my burning cheek. The woman has a mean slap.

"Are you okay?" Alex asks as he comes and sits by me. Mel jumps over to him and smothers him with kisses. I can't help but smile as he smiles innocently.

"I'm better," I tell him as I rest my head on his shoulder.

"I should go check on mama," Fortune says to us. I nod and he says his goodbyes to us.

At some point I fell asleep. I woke up in my bed. Alone. I can hear laughter from the next room.

I jumped out of bed and make my way to the living room. There is Alex on the floor. Mel is on him smothering him in kisses again.

"I see you found yourself a new lover," I chuckle as I lean against the wall. Alex pets Mel and glances over at me with the biggest smile on his face ever. "What?" I ask.

"So I'm your lover now?" Alex asks. I roll my eyes at him and join him and Mel on the floor.
