When in Morgan

The team I belonged to sure is fun to be with. There was never a day that we never laughed. Days passed but never a complaint about how work is tiring came from our mouth.

We had a speaker and musics fill in the silence when all of us are working. And out of the blue, Jonathan and Dexter will start dancing to the beat. Reiny dance along and soon, Alyssa and I are pulled to the "dancefloor". Some patients and nurses even looked at us and they do also share the fun. The others don't mind having some audience but I do. What if Adam will see me? Wait, when did I even start to care what he'll think of me? Weird.

We take turns when buying our lunch. Sometimes, we eat outside but staying a bit longer is tempting especially when joking around makes it hard to go back to work. To make sure that we had a progress day by day, we'd rather stay on the place.

Today's my turn. "So, this is all?" I said skimming their orders in the paper.

"Please, don't forget my diet soda. Okay, Kat?" Reiny said swinging on her chair.

"You already have a sexy bod. I guessed gaining some weight wouldn't make a difference." I replied.

"Well, our body is different okay? I need to stay at the gym for three hours to burn the fat I gained for just three minutes."

I shook my head sideways no longer saying anything. Well, she is right. I'm very grateful to have this body. I eat a lot without getting fat. I guessed my metabolism is just too fast.

Since Jonathan did some confirmation with the bank, I guessed I'll commute. I was busy looking for my wallet that I was no longer looking where I'm going.

I was already near at the elevator when I bumped into someone. Someone who has a body so sturdy that I almost fell backwards.

"I'm sorry." The guy said holding my arm to help me balance from falling.

I looked at him. Those eyes that seems to transport you to a place where you're his queen and his... only yours.

I blinked to my senses.

"Katarina?"
"Adam?"

We said simultaneously.

"You alright? I'm so sorry." He seems to be so troubled. Well, I guessed he should be, it kind of hurts.

"Of course I am." I gave out a short laugh.

"After you?" He said smiling at me.

It was only the two of us.

I don't know if its only me but I'm sweating. My hands are cold. Gosh. The elevator seems to suck all the oxygen from my lungs that made me intake some to keep me alive.

"So, you're on this floor?" I turned to face him casually. I nodded, "Yea." I shortened my answer afraid that I might stammer.

He nodded considering my answer. "Did you already had lunch?"

Good thing that he's talking to me to remove the awkwardness.

"I'm out to buy us some. It's my turn this time" I said with a smile.

"Me, too. Let's grab lunch together, then?"

I didn't answer immediately to make Adam believe that what he said didn't made me that excited. "Hmmm, sure."

Besides, he can drive us there and I'll be back early. The elevator shut open and we walked outside to the parking lot where his car is parked. I am not good with cars. As long as it has four wheels, a driver and passenger's seat, I'll consider it as one. His is a black Toyota. That's all I can say. It looks brand new. I can tell based on the outside and on the inside.
