HURRY!

I dash out the door, running to the parking lot. Unlocking the old car in front of me, and getting into the driver's seat. While driving there I didn't bother to turn on any music, too distracted by the thought of what could be happening. I arrived at the rented home my parents lived in. I knock then wait.....and wait...and wait. I knock again, harsher this time. Then I hear footsteps come towards the door.

The  door creaks open and I see my mother standing there with her salt and pepper hair.

"Eli! You're here early," She said.

"I saw you're message and came over here as fast as I could, not speeding of course,"

"Well you got here faster than your siblings, Ray still lives in Flag and that's a longgg drive. It'll be worse since they'll most likely get an energy drink on the way,"

"It's their fault they like snow," I said grinning.

"I'm not very happy with my children running to live all over the damn state," My mom said, "But I get it, I did like to tease you whenever you're at home,"

"You kept annoying me about if I was in love with Tristan after I came out! Before that you kept asking me if I liked any girls,"

"I want you to tell me stuff since you're always so secretive,"

"Because you're my parent, I don't need to tell you everything,"

"Yes but you barely tell me anything, you're becoming like Lucas he never tell us how college is going for him,"

"Yeah I am sorry, I just don't have stuff to talk about,"

"Yeah, yeah sure you don't, anyway come into the house if you stay out there you will be sick later,"

"Oh yea, forgot I was outside," I walk in the house, it hasn't changed since I've moved out. On the couch I see my dad on his favorite chair, watching tv, "Hi dad," I go over and hug him.

"Helloo, how are you doing son?"

"I am doing alright, what did you two have to say?"

"Hm Siri, do you think we should wait till the three other kids come?" My dad's nickname for my mom was Siri since her name was Sierra. The thing is that my parents' phones both use Siri as the assistant.

"I don't know what you mean. Can you please repeat that?" Asked Siri.

"Sh*t forgot to turn off Siri," My dad exclaimed. My mom chuckles quietly.

"I feel like we should wait for our other little sh*ts,"My mom said.

   "Hey! We're not little craps!"

"Yeah you're were the only one," My mom teased.

   "I wasn't that bad," I said.

"You were a fighter, and if you really wanted too, you would bite. You kicked in your sleep and that was literally a pain in the @*s since you slept in our bed. When you were nonverbal and going to speech therapy, you would somehow be little crap without saying anything," My mom added, "Oh that reminds me of a time where,"

She then went to ramble on about me outright denying going to the bathroom through shakes of my head and smirks. I was not a pleasant kid now that I hear about it. A knock stopped my mom from talking on and on about my childhood that I never remembered. She opened the door and saw my older brother.

"Oh! Lucas, hello my eldest son," My mom greeted.

"Hi," He said simply. My brother has never really been talkative, unless it was something he enjoyed. Like strange articles, dramas, weird facts and questions, etc.

"Come in," My mom said ushering him inside.

"Hey Jackson, have you heard the update on the game?" My dad asked, Ray, Lucas, and my dad both played this game. I played at some point, but fell out of interest when life became...chaotic to put it nicely.

"No, but I've heard it was pretty good," Lucas replied. I then tuned out of the conversation to zone out on my own thoughts. Not on purpose though, just a bad habit.
