Fix it Up

The X-Rays were really quick. It wasn't long before I was back in Room 7 with Mum. Food was on the table, but it didn't look appealing. There were a tub of sandwiches, which I ate most of, some sort of soup, an odd looking cake, hot water in a teapot and a teacup filled with a bag of coffee, a bag of tea, sugar, a Popsicle stick and milk. I didn't eat any food at snack. I was too sore to move, so I was rather hungry.

I sat on the bed with Mum, waiting for the doctor to come with the results. We waited for a while. As we waited, a boy walked in with his Mum. His shirt was off, his shoulder pouring with blood. Mum and I just stared at him, then glanced over at each other, a look of "What the heck has he done to himself". Another nurse walked in and pulled the curtain across as a divider. We had our own separate areas now. The boy sat on the hospital chair that was in my room. It wasn't nice to do, but Mum and I listened in to the conversation the nurse and the boy were having...
" What grade are you in Hun?" The nurse asked.
"Year 7"
"And so, what have you actually done to yourself?"
" Well, I was in a room and I went through the window..."
Mum and I sniggered quietly.

My nurse came in with a tub and a sort of portable sink on wheels. "Oh, oh" I muttered under my breath. I recognised that sink and the tub. There's plaster coming onto my leg.......
The nurse asked me to turn over flat on my stomach. Trust me, it really hurt. She then put a sheet over the bottom half of my body to prevent the plaster getting on my clothes. She raised my leg and asked Mum to hold it in the position she was holding it. I couldn't see what was happening. All I did was hold my breath because of the fact that I was in so much pain.

The plaster was on, and I was sitting up properly. The nurse had said to us that it will get really hot because it's drying. And it did. She then left to clean herself up. My leg felt better, but it was still really sore. I tilted my head back and stared at Mum. She was smiling as she rubbed my hand back and forth. This made me a little happier.
