I opened my eyes.

"Would you like some tea?" said a voice I knew all to well.

"Where are we?" I asked with a raspy voice.

"You're home. Safe in my city."

"How long was I unconscious?"

"Only for a few days."

I looked out of the window. There was no doubt. I was back in Highland.

"Where the hell is Amelia?" I needed to find her.

"You will see her in time."

I snort.

"And Arthur?"

His jaw tightened when I mentionned his name. "Ugh! Enough with the questions. Let's have breakfast together." He handed me a dress and then left the room.

I was supposed to put that dress on and follow him. But what should I do? Do what he wants? I  guess I have to, if i wanted to survive.

"You look so beautiful in your gift." I couldn't speak or move. I stood there on the door step to the dining room. I can't go back to this.

"Please come in. Sit down."

And so I did.

"Amelia come on. We have a guest. Don't be shy." Ezra called.

Amelia came into the room. My blood froze. She was so pale and had bruises all over her face. I almost didn't recongnized her.

"Amelia!" I stood up running towards her and hugged her. But she did nothing. She stood there still like a stick.

"Don't bother. She isn't allowed to talk unless I tell her to." Ezra said proudly. "Look how well behaved she is now." He smiled.

"What did you do to her, you monster!" I screamed at him. How could he do this to her. It was all my fault. "Let her go. You have me now. Let her go. Please." I begged.

"But Darcy darling, she doesn't want to leave. And soon you will too. Now shut up and eat." He did a hand gesture and Amelia left the room like a puppet.

I ate and drunk in silence. How could he break her like this? How could a human beeing so cruel? I needed to see her alone. I needed to talk to her.

"What happened to you?" He asked. "Why are you so silent? Why don't you smile at me?"

"I came to my senses." I answered staring at him.

He simply laughed. "Could you tell me what this nonsense means?"

"I know your real you. You are foul and mean and brutal..."

"Woah, hang in there." He cutted me off. "You spend to much time with these assholes. You can't think all that? Do you?"

I didn't answered his question. But the silence was answer enough. He stood up and slaped me across the face.

"Look what you make me do to you!" He cupped my face and forced me to look in his eyes.

"Kiss me." He said. I broke the eye contact and didn't move.

"I am not good enough for you, mh?" He hissed. He grabed my face and forced me to kiss him. "I have waited month to do this."

"Why did you wanted me back so bad? I betrayed you!" I asked. Why couldn't he just leave me alone.

"You see darling, I am greater than just Highland. And those traiter who moved to the hotel needed a little reminder of who I am. That I can take everything that pleases me. And that they have survived because I didn't wanted them to be dead. I am quite literally god." He smirks.

„You clearly didn't care about the hotel until I showed up. Did you attacked the hotel because you knew that Arthur and I would be together?" I asked.

He clenched his jaw and his knukles went white from squeezing his glass. It could have break at any moment.

„Fuck Arthur. He always got everything he wanted exept you. You were always mine. He needs a lesson that nobody can steal my girl."

His girl? If only he knew that I wasn't interested in him but in somebody else. What would he do to Amelia if he ever finds out? „Could it occur in your mind that you are the problem? That you are crazy?"

„Fine make me your enemy. I don't care. But don't forget who the real enemies are: those assholes in this rancid hotel. And because they are so weak we will crush them. They are gong to need a miracle if they want to win my next attack." He laughed.

A second attack? They barely even survived Ezras first attack. I hated to say that Ezra was right but the guys at the hotel are weak. They are all going to die and he is not going to stop at anything.

But I could stop him. And I will.

Ezra sipped his wine.

„It's not even noon. You disgust me." I said.

„Well since you are such in a good mood I hate to leave you but..." He stood up and kissed the top of my head. „Don't do anything I wouldn't do. And don't think about leaving. Do you hear me?

DO YOU HEAR ME?" he screamed. I nodded trying to hide the fear in my eyes.

He left and I slipped a knife into my sock. And even if I had to stop him like that, I would.
