It was dark outside and Ezra hadn't come back.

Amelia came in the living room where I was reading a book. Her book. She gave it to me a long time ago. I was surprised that Ezra hat kept it. It was laying in a cupboard next to my bed. Our bed.

It was the first time we were alone since... I didn't even remember since when.

"Amelia." I said breathless.

We looked into each other's eyes. How could I ever make up for the pain I caused her? What if she won't forgive me?

"How are you?" I asked her. I didn't know what else to say. Her eyes widened. What did I say?

Her looked around. "The walls have hears." She whispered and dragged me with her outside on the balcony. At least she didn't loose her strong grip.

"Did Ezra do something to you. Did he touch you?" Her eyes became dark. I shake my head.

We heard noises in the living room so she presses me against the cabinwall and put her hand over my mouth. When the voices had passed, she only let go of her hand over my mouth.

We halted. I looked down at her lips. But I couldn't unsee a big scar over her mouth that wasn't there before.

"What did he do to you?" I said touching that scar. "I am so sorry for everything."

She took a few steps back shaking her head.

"Listen to me very carefully. There is a boy named Arthur in the basement underneath Ezra's study room. Tomorrow Ezra and I will be gone all afternoon long so I will accidentally leave his study room door open. You will look for this boy."

"Do you know him?" I asked surprised.

"Yeah, he was there for a few weeks when I first arrived in Highland. I think he was Ezra's best friend or something."

I took a few steps towards her because I didn't understand where her point was going.

"Please Darcy. Don't. I know how much this boy means to you.

He told me all about you when I first met him. He left Highland to go look for you. But then you came to Highland. At first I wanted to tell you everything but I got to know you and I wanted... I wanted to keep you for myself. I didn't want you to leave me for him..."

"Amelia..." I said trying to cut her off.

"I understand what you tried to do. And I forgive you. I know that Dorian and my plan was reckless. But it was worth a shot. It was not your fault that Ezra figured it out. So go find Arthur and get out of here before it's too late..."

I cut her off. "Amelia stop! Now you listen to me. My whole life I have waited for somebody like you. I don't want Arthur. I don't want Ezra. I want... you."

We both were shocked. I didn't meant to...

Amelia leaned in and put a kiss on my mouth. It was short. Almost like a peck. We looked at each other for a few seconds.

"Your brown eyes are driving me crazy." She whispered next to my mouth.

I stood on my tiptoes and I leaned in to kiss her. This time it was deeper. It left a good tingly feeling all over my body. She pulled me closer by putting her hands on my hips.

We pulled apart.

"Does Ezra has any suspicions about... us?" I asked. Because if he did he hid it pretty well.

"No. I don't think it occured him that you could like me." She answered smiling.

"What?" I asked.

"I like the sound of „us". Ezra's torture is almost worth it for you." She said cocky.

"Don't say that." I answered unamused which made her laugh more.

"So he didn't break you?" I asked carefully.

"Please. You will have to need more than a little boy with small dick syndrom to break me." She answered.

"Can you be serious for one second?" I asked her. Because I know what she was trying to do. "Humor and confidence won't make anything better. You can talk to me Amelia." I said taking her hand.

"Not now. We can't afford it. Maybe one day, when we are finaly safe." She answered letting go of my hand.

"This is stupid. You don't have to act tough around me!"

"I can't break down now. We have to much at stake." She said with a shacky voice.

"I don't think I will ever forgive myself for what I did to you."

„Good because you didn't do anything. All this was Ezra and not you." She reasured me holding my hands.

Amelia cleared her throat. "But I think Arthur isn't holding up as good as me. I think you should go check up on Arthur tomorrow nevertheless."
