"Are you sure you put the audition time on the flyer?" Whittier complained as she looked between Monica and I who started to get upset at the small blaming she was trying to start when realizing that it was possible that no one would show up.

"Yes." Monica and I said in unison as we rolled our eyes.

Whittier started to pace around the room frantically as she hoped someone would come soon, "Okay because it was an hour and a half ago."

"I put the time on there." Monica admitted confused.

"Okay. Well, what color paper did you use?" Whittier responded nodding to herself as she tried to understand where we were coming from.

Starting to stand up from the seat I was previously sitting on, I placed a hand on the side of my hip before replying to her. "We already told you Whitt. Look, Mon and I used lemon yellow."

"You should have used wild berry pink. Wild berry pink always gets people to show up." Whittier frowned, not seeing that it was possible that no one wanted to join and that it was instead one of our faults obviously excluding herself from the issue.

"Why are you all up in our grille? Do you see us even remotely asking you what specific color markers you used for the big signs?" Monica vented putting her hands out to gesture her frustration.

Whittier smirked before answering her question, "Black and gold."

"With glitter?" I questioned curiously knowing how this would play out if she answered with the incorrect response in Monica's eyes.

"No..." Whittier admitted as she started to panic. She put her hand and ran it over her face before letting out a loud groan causing for a laugh to emit out of me.

"Whitt, what is a sign without glitter? That is why nobody showed up!" Monica exclaimed upset.

The sound of chattering started to become louder as Whittier signaled for us to listen in. Someone had to have been coming so we pushed each other and made our way to a chair so we could wait for the person who might've been coming to tryout at the moment.

Soon enough, the person arrived. He was somewhat tall, wearing a cropped tank top and a pair of blue shorts. I wanted to laugh, and Monica must've noticed but she elbowed me before I could. "You ladies ready for my dope?" He announced as he stepped forward. As soon as he started to perform Whittier leaned her head against the table as Monica and I occasionally gave each other concerned glances over the auditions, and honestly it only got worser and worser.

"I don't know what that was." Monica sighed as we walked out of the building where we held cheerleading auditions for the day. She linked arms with me when I moved around Whittier to step beside her to rub her arm as she seemed extremely upset.

Whittier smiled sarcastically as she answered, "Our new and improved squad literally lasted exactly ninety-seven minutes." She fumbled through her bag before grabbing a piece of gum and handing Monica and I each a piece while exhaling dramatically.

"There's still time Whitt." I said hoping to throw in some comfort.

Monica nodded in my direction as she started to add in her own two cents. "Yeah, come on look, don't give up yet. I mean, maybe we'll find some talent. Somewhere."

"Where? All the cheerleaders on campus are already cheerleaders." Whittier confused with a sense of hopelessness lingering from her tone.

"Then I don't know." Monica shrugged in confession.

Whittier seemed on the verge of tears as she flailed her arms around in obviously growing irritation, "It's not like we're gonna run into a group of people who just spontaneously are shouting out cheers."

People shouting cheers was heard drawing our attention away from the conversation at hand. It was hilarious, Whittier took off running in the direction of the noise while Monica and I hurried to catch up to her. We went inside where I believe two of the defunded clubs were protesting outside of the dean's door.

"What do we want?" One was heard shouting through the megaphone.

"Justice!" They all answered in unison causing me to smile.

"And how will we get it?"

"By standing outside the dean's office..." Their voices began to overlap, and it was becoming unclear as to how one would understand them.

The one holding the megaphone must've felt as confused as we had been because he was quick to speak over the overlap that had occurred with an irritated expression over his features. "Sorry, what? I have no idea what you just said."

Monica nudged me to ask, "Who in the hell are these people?"

One of the protestors came towards the three of us and handed us a flyer but Whittier seemed like the only one curious enough to read through it. "It's the extracurricular groups. The ones that lost their practice space when the dean took away their funding."

"Man, they got jacked!" Monica whispered as I nudged her when I noticed some of the protestors throwing a glare in her path.

The voices of the protestors continued to overlap causing the one holding the megaphone to eventually lose interest in what he had been doing, "You guys' suck." He walked away from the rest of the crowd tossing his megaphone into a nearby trashcan.

Monica, Whittier and I turned to one another with knowing looks. I nodded before following after him, "Hey wait up!" He turned around and rose a brow in confusion before looking around in confusion and then pointing towards himself. I nodded making him shrug as he walked towards me.

"How can I help you?" He said as I smiled.

"I'm Kelly." I greeted holding my hand out for him to shake but he continued to stare at me as if waiting for me to get to the point instead, "Okay, I see you don't care. Well, I was wondering if you'd like to assemble the rest of the protestors to meet at a room upstairs in the cafeteria, the boiler room? There's something there that would be worth your while and could assist you all in the problem you've been facing with the defunding."

"If this is a prank..."

"It's not. I swear." I reassured putting a hand on his shoulder. He nodded before turning around and walking back towards the crowd.
