"I think I have the most brilliant idea ever for our music situation..." Monica admitted as I glanced at her. She had waited for me after class and walked with me where I hoped was towards our dorm but where she was leading seemed elsewhere.

I nodded before tilting my head curiously, "Okay then... where?"

"With Derek."

Smiling at what she attempted to do, I linked arms with her as we walked towards the studio where Derek would be at. When we arrived, Monica knocked on the glass window catching his attention where he sat with Seojun beside him. Once he gestured for us to come in, Seojun grabbed onto my wrist and pulled me onto his lap emitting a small smile out of me.

"So, what's going on?" Monica said with a smile.

Derek glanced at her confused, "What?"

"I said... What's going..." Monica repeated as Derek paused turning to lower the volume out of the loud sounds coming from the speaker, "What's going on?"

Derek glanced at Seojun before turning back to Monica and simply shrugging, "Oh, not much. How about you?"

"Well, we have this new cheerleading squad." I brought up as Monica gave me a grateful glance from bringing it up not knowing how he'd take it once we brought up Whittier.

Derek acknowledged the statement with a movement from his head, "Yeah. So, I heard."

"And we're improving." Monica added.

"We're just missing something." Monica continued to speak while Derek moved around the studio as he seemed to search for a record to play. "We don't have any rhythm. You know? No backbeat to help us bring it all together. But if we had a great D.J...."

Derek looked at me as if I was insane for bringing Monica then turning to Monica and looked at her as if she was insane for asking that. He sighed in response before speaking, "Look, I got three jobs, this radio gig, two advanced lit classes..." He shook his head repeatedly as if that held the answer.

"I know it would mean a lot to Whittier." I said softly as he scoffed in response, "Look, she feels really bad about what happened. She's looking for a way to reconnect with you."

Derek turned to his computer and stared a head while Monica waited patiently. Seojun poked my side diverting my attention onto him, "And where have you been? Only phonecalls and text messages are all I've seen of you. "

"I know I'm sorry... teaching cheers is hard..." I complained before slumping back to lean into his chest further. He laughed as he rubbed my arm making me smile, "But we still are going on that date this weekend, right?"

He nodded and tilted his head to the side, "Of course we are. Just don't bail on me. I don't think I can handle a date through the phone without seeing your face in person." Laughing together we stopped the conversation where Derek turned to us all again.

"Let me intro this next tune." Derek said after his moment of silence. I looked at him confused even as Monica rolled her eyes before keeping quiet. He scooted closer to the mic and started to speak, "That, my friends, was the bitchin' sound of The Promise Ring. This next track is dedicated to all of the guys out there whose hearts have been ripped out of their chests and devoured for breakfast by cute, peppy, social-climbing blond girls. Give me a "Hey". Give me a "Ho". Give me a "I don't know you anymore." I know it sucks." He then turned to Monica and I and shrugged, "Okay, what was your question?"

"Forget it." Monica shouted over the loud music as she held out her hand for me to grab as she led us out of the studio.

We walked out out of the studio and towards our dorm in silence, but you can tell that something was bothering Monica. I nudged her side causing her to glance at me as I spoke, "What's wrong Mon?"

She shrugged before running a hand over her face, "I'm starting to feel like we're way in over our heads with this cheerleading stuff. It's just all starting to seem like too much to handle if I'm being honest."

"Maybe you need a break." I offered as she shrugged again. I smirked when I saw a figure behind her starting to walk towards us, "Maybe a tall and in my opinion, weird kind of break."

Monica threw me a confused look before attempting to turn around until she was lifted into the air and spun around causing her to squeal in surprise. "What the hell?!" She exclaimed causing Greg and I to laugh as he placed her back onto the ground resulting in her punching him on the shoulder.

"Ow! What was that for?" Greg replied in disbelief as she shrugged.

Monica narrowed her eyes as she placed on her hip, "Don't scare me like that bozo."

"I love a woman that could degrade me." Greg sighed as he placed a hand over his heart. He pulled Monica in closer so he could hug her before turning to me, "Is it okay if I steal her from you?"

I nodded and crossed my arms over my chest, "By all means take her. She needs a break."

Greg put a thumbs up for me to see before kissing the top of Monica's head as she rolled her eyes with a small smile, "Awesome! I shall give you the break of your life Mon." He bid me a farewell before pulling Monica off in the opposite direction so that they could hang out.

I laughed when Monica turned back to gesture for me to help her before Greg seemed to pull her harder causing her to jump on his back instead. Loud laughter was heard from the two from afar causing my smile to become larger before I turned around and walked back to the dorms.
