One Week Later

Chris's POV

It had been one week of gifts and paranormal activity. Shawn and Joey had been messing with my family lately, flickering lights, moving things on their own, that kinda stuff. I was really starting to take in the whole "transitioning" thing. They were really nice and treated me like family. But I'm still worried about the transitioning ritual. He said it's a bit painful. But I ain't some pussy..

"Chris! Are you listening?!" Clown exclaimed. I snapped out of my thoughts and looked at the clown in front of me. "Uh- uh yea." I replied. He gave me a look. "Oh really? Then what'd I just say?" He asked. "Uhm..you see, I just..didn't hear you because of the wind, because the window is open.." I lied. He kept the look.

I sighed and rolled my eyes. "Ok maybe I wasn't listening." I said. He nodded. "What's on your mind?" He asked. I shrugged. "I don't know, the whole transition thing. I think I might wanna do it." I said. His face seemed to light up. "Really?!" I nodded. "Oh that's great!" He said. I smiled and shrugged.

"Yea, I mean, you guys treat me like family..I really enjoy bein' around you guys." I said. He nodded. "Yea! Yea that's really good. That's how we wanted you to feel. You're basically family at this point, and with that transition, you'll really become family." He explained. I nodded. "So, can you explain how the ritual actually works?" I asked.

He tensed a bit. "Uh, yea. Yea I can.. So, Corey basically brings you to a place where you feel comfortable, then he releases some of his energy into your stomach and it spreads throughout your body, and soon you'd be a spirit. And the cool thing is, you get your own special side effect."He said. "How bad does it hurt?" I asked. He sighed. "If you stay quiet, it won't hurt as bad. But uh..it..it hurts..quite a bit.. But it's worth it!" He quickly said.

I hummed. "Alright.." "So you will?!" "Uh..I gotta decide still." He frowned, but shrugged. "Alright, fair enough." He replied. I nodded. "But you should..so we can talk more. I don't like that we can't talk everyday." He admitted. "Aww, the clown has a heart." I said. He flipped me off. "Oh! I've been meaning to ask, how old are you?" I asked. He looked at me confused, but then shrugged.

"Hard to tell. How old do you think I am?" He asked. I laughed. "78." I replied. He fake gasped and held his heart. "My heart.." He dramatically said. I smiled and laughed. "I'm just kidding!" "Sure.." He said. "Aw, what? You want a hug?" I asked. He nodded and I made a face, but I soon leaned in and gave him a hug. "Dramatic ass." I said.

It took a second for him to hug back. "I didn't think you'd actually hug me." He said. I shrugged and let go. "Why not? You're just a scary clown spirit, that's all." I said. I think he smiled through his mask.

"Can you please transition?" He asked after a while. I looked up at him and he was holding his hands in his lap and interlocking his fingers. "Mm..." Is all I said back. I sighed. "Should I? Im not speaking from a best friend perspective, I mean for me. How would it affect me?" I asked. "Uh, it really wouldn't. I think you should, but it's your decision. Uhm..the only bad thing is the pain. But that goes away in a day, so it's not that bad." He explained.

I nodded. "I think I'm gonna." I said. He smiled. "Good! Everyone will be really happy! You'll live with us and everything!" He said. "What about my family? They're gonna know I'm gone within hours." I said. He shrugged. "Tell them you're moving out." He said. "I could do that..but j don't know how believable that is." I said.

He hummed. "That's really all I can think of.." He said. "Or-.or hear me out..don't tell them." He said. "No." I sternly said. "Well, I'm outta ideas." He said. I sighed. "Yknow what? Fuck it. I'll tell them I'm moving out." I said. Clown smiled. "Well cmon then! Let's go do the ritual!" He excited said. I nodded.

I grabbed his hand and he teleported us to Corey's house. "GUYSSSS ITS TIMEEE!" He yelled. "Jesus Christ..my ears." I mumbled. "Oopies." He replied. Everyone immediately ran into the living room we were standing in. "HE SAID YES?!" "YESSSS!" "FINALLY!!" Everyone yelled. I stood confused on why everyone was so hyped.

Corey walked in front of me. "Ok ok..so. Where's a place you feel most comfortable?" He asked. I paused, but then I immediately knew my answer. "My old home." I said. Corey nodded and stuck out his hand. I took it and he teleported me...to my old home. "Wow..it feels like a lifetime since I've been here." I said.

"I bet." Joey said. "Alright, so. Come, lay down here." Corey said. I sat on the patch of grass we were standing on. I laid down completely and everyone stood above me. Joey was literally rubbing Corey's shoulders. "I'm fine Joes, thank you." Corey laughed. Joey immediately took his hands off. "I'm sorry!" Joey immediately apologized. "Stop apologizing Joey, you do that too much." Corey said.

"Sor-...ok." He said. Corey stood on my side and took a deep breath. "You ready? This abouta hurt like a son 'a bitch." He said. I hesitantly nodded. I started to get nervous though. Corey relaxed and then something happened. Black started to pour out of Corey's stomach. That black started to fall into my stomach. Then it hit me.

Probably the worst pain I had ever felt in my life rushed through me. I immediately jolted up a bit and tried to relax. The others stood over me concerned.

"If you stay quiet, it won't hurt as bad."

I remembered that Clown said that, so I tried my best not to scream. That pain moves throughout my entire body. They were right. It started in your chest and it made its way through.

After about two minutes, it stopped, but I was still sore. My body relaxed and I could feel the grass and I could breathe again. I thought I was dead. I opened my eyes and saw everyone. "It worked!" Sid cried. I groaned. I couldn't move or anything. Clown leaned down and handed me my mask.

"Whenever you're ready, I'd put this on. No offense." He said. I couldn't move any joint to pick up the mask. "And don't force yourself to move, it'd make it worse." Mick explained. I looked over at Corey, who's currently hugging Joey. "It's ok Cor..just take deep breathes..in and out. Just like that..it worked! You did good." Joey said. Corey nodded and didn't stop hugging Joey. I sighed and laid back more.

"Cmon, let's get to the house so you can rest." Paul said. They teleported me to Corey's house and into a bedroom. "Just rest, we won't bother you. We'll check up on you ina few, k?" Shawn said. I didn't reply. "I'll just take that as a yes." He said. He and the others walked out.

And that's how it's been for the last 5 months. We've lived together and been happy. My family doesn't know I'm a spirit now, and I'm even a doll for my sister. (The guys convinced me too). But yea. I get my happy ending :)))
