It wasn't right to leave yourself in the dark, you had to know. You had to know what Moon had done, what was behind the scenes of The Daycare Attendant. You had to ask Moon himself, he knew, he would be the one to inform you. He was a primary source, and he would be your best option.

But you couldn't do it now, the daycare was open, and Sun was probably swarmed with kids. Three downsides to that, it was Sun, not Moon. There were children there, it would be inappropriate to barge in and start interrogating him. Three? You'd have to get up and maneuver around the large quantity of guests, a recipe for disaster.

But when could you go over? Something about 6 pm right? Perhaps you could check in after said time? If there were still children within the area, you would come back later. You might even have to confront the both of them, but you were too nervous to check Sun's written maintenance file.

But there was another problem. You didn't know how to bring it up. You couldn't be too direct, it might make you seem angry, or nosey. It'd make you appear as something you weren't. Something undesirable. But that was the problem too, you couldn't sidestep the topic either. It'd allow for Moon to sidestep it as well, and frankly, that was time inefficient.

It was complicated really. You didn't know how to bring it up, period. What were you even going to bring up? You hadn't watched any of the reports, and nor were you going to. You weren't going to touch them until you felt ready that you could know the truth.

All it was, was a number. And all you had read, was that number. There was more to read, and maybe, just maybe, it might provide useful.

You opened the file once more, bringing it close to you as you braced yourself for something scarring.

Animatronic: Daycare Attendant Moon

Incident Report Total: 47

The Daycare Attendant, Moon, is classified as a multi-use animatronic. Moon is the counterpart of Sun, activating when the lights are turned off. Moon is described as an anatomically correct, celestial themed animatronic.

A white crescent moon made of plaster is used as the 'facial' part of the faceplate, recently replaced due to a class 2 incident involving a mechanic. Moon's other half of the face is covered in black paint despite having facial features engraved in the plastic.

Moon has been equipped with special lenses colored red in order to avoid blinding guests and staff. Moon's theme colors are white, black and blue, clothing colors carrying blue, white and yellow.

Moon's role as a multi-utility animatronic has prevented the termination of Sun and itself. Due to the low budget of The Daycare Attendant, it has been hypothesized that the animatronic will soon be decommissioned and replaced with better technology. This has not been confirmed by the entertainment's hierarchy.

Moon serves as the secondary daycare attendant, helping kids fall asleep for parent demanded 'naptime.' Due to this change in the daycare, complaints have been down by 7%. This has also allowed for maintenance workers to add more functions to the attendant, making both it and its counterpart more effective in daycare.

Moon's secondary protocol is activated after closing hour recharge cycles, serving as a primary security system. Moon's protocols allow it to make executive decisions within milliseconds, Moon has become more active and reactive ever since this change was made, resulting in a minor flaw to its code. However, this problem isn't an immediate danger, and has not been scheduled to be fixed.

Moon is allowed all access to the Pizzaplex after closing hours, maintenance tunnels, greenrooms, main atrium, game stations and others are to be managed solely by this animatronic. Moon is allowed to use physical force as a secondary resort if intruders, or unauthorized guest refuse to leave.

No lawsuits have been filed since this feature was installed and will not be changed unless absolutely necessary.

Moon's last protocol comes in to play at all times but is only to be used after hours when authorized personnel request it. Moon serves as a secondary hand during maintenance when requested by staff.

Moon can perform various tasks ranging from wire repair to limb replacement. It is recommended to use Moon during dangerous procedures involving the animatronic, if instructed to do so, mechanics will be forced to leave the vicinity due to possible injury and death.

Moon is not to be decommissioned under any circumstances.

Multi-use? 'Authorized' access?

It seemed almost cruel to make one singular animatronic do so much, on top of that, Moon wasn't even active 24/7, splitting a body between Sun and himself. It was cruel the way this place was set up.

They had feelings, you had seen it, heard it even. But they were utilizing them like slaves. Were their jolly smiles a mask for their real emotions? Are had the entertainment fucked that up to? Programmed to like their jobs so they wouldn't complain about it.

Was that how Moon felt? Used to repair and update other animatronics? Did he like that? Or was he forced to do it?

It was sad to see them used this way, and yet, you could do nothing about it. You were... How should you put it? Powerless.

You stood up, closing and pushing the pale folder away from you. That cartoon drawing of Moon's poster taunting you. They had to do it all, it was either that or decommission.

You walked out of your office, you'd go to The Arcade.

It'd help clear your mind for a few hours.
