The door clicked as Ryan turned the key in the knob. "Chill out, Dyl. We're almost inside." He comforted his boyfriend, who was clinging onto him and shivering like crazy. "U-uh, I th-think I'm chill eeenough." Dylan's teeth chattered in between his words.
"Mhm," Ryan hummed before opening the door, "After you."
The taller boy blushed at the other's formality, quickly entering the home. Ryan steadily shut the door behind him when he heard a muffled voice. It was his little sister Sarah, and even though he didn't like eavesdropping, he wanted to hear what was going on."Shh.." He warned Dylan, though he didn't say anything.
"Yeah, my bro's out. So maybe I could, only for a while."
She got quiet, probably waiting for the person on the other line to respond.
"I mean yeah, but what if he gets mad at me for having a girlfriend? I-it's not that don't like you back, I'm just- worried."
Ryan's pupils shrunk. Sarah had a girlfriend?!
"Yeah- ow! That weird feeling is back and my stomach hurts again. I'm going to go use the bathroom."
The eavesdropping duo quickly (and quietly) hid behind a wall located in the corner of the hall. They waited for the sound of a door shutting before coming out of their hiding spot. "Wow." Ryan shook his head in disbelief, "She had a girlfriend and didn't even want to tell me."
"Well, you heard her. She thought you'd get mad." Dylan justified the fact that Sarah didn't tell her older brother about her new girlfriend. "I wouldn't be. I would never be. Sarah's all I have, so why wouldn't I accept her? Plus-" He shut off his sentence, "I'm oversharing. Sorry." Ryan apologized, not knowing that his boyfriend was totally with him 'talking so much'.
"Nono, it's fine," Dylan assured him, "I do it all the time." He ended with a chuckle. Ryan smiled gratefully and took his hand. "Let's go to my room now." Dylan shook his head happily and they both entered his room.
"Now, look- I'm sorry if my room isn't-""- Woah..." Dylan's eyes glimmered at the room. He thought that Ryan's room would be dark, and scary-looking. In fact, it was way more colorful than he imagined. There were an insane amount of posters on the wall next to his desk. Some were of Pikachu and some other Pokémon characters.
Some chains were hung above his bed like some type of banner. Above the chains were another poster. This one was in black and white, and had the words "Cult Damage" on it. The 'dark and scary-looking' part kind of came true when Dylan inspected other parts of the room. For example, his bed. Ryan's bed was covered in red and black striped covers, and his pillow had a faint skull print.
"Your room is- it's so you," Dylan took a few more steps closer to his bed, "Except for all the Pokémon stuff, I never knew you liked that." Ryan, flustered, scratched the back of his neck as his face heated up, "T-thanks. And, uh, yeah. It was kinda my childhood show," he faced the floor, thinking if he should continue. "It, uh, helped me get through the hard times. Sounds kinda stupid, but yeah."
"It's not stupid, Ry. We all have things that make us feel better."
Ryan blushed even more. He barely meets people that can easily understand his feelings. "Thank you, Vy. It might seem little but-"
"- RYYYYANNNN!!!"
An ear piercing shriek echoed through the closed door. Ryan widened his eyes, and in a state of panic, he kicked the door open, busting the lock. He ran as fast as he could to the bathroom, where the sound came from. "SARAH?! WHAT'S WRONG?! OPEN THE DOOR!" As soon as he heard a 'click', he shoved the door open.
