Advice Column:

While our issue's theme is "Mother's Day", let's face it: Some of us are forgetful people. I, for one, may or may not have remembered the 10th of May. Either way, maybe you also forgot about Mother's Day.

"Dear Cress,

I forgot about Mother's Day. I didn't call my mom or send her a gift. I want to make it up to her - but I don't know how.

~Forgetful."

Well, today is your lucky day! I'm here to help you with all your late Mother's Day needs.

First- Apologize for forgetting Mother's Day! Mothers can tell when their kid is lying (I swear, it's a super power). Flowers do help with the whole forgiving on mom's part. Roses are never wrong, but if you're in the mood for more of a "Spring" flower, Daffodils and Daisies may be your best bet.

Gift- If your mother has a sweet tooth, chocolate will always make her day. If you live near your mother, make her breakfast in bed or bake a dessert. You can also buy her a pair of sunglasses, or a purse.

But after all, you know your mother and you know what she likes! Does she turn into a kid in a candy store when you go to the flower section of your local Home Depot? Then help her plant her flowers, or do a task that she normally does. Just go out of your way to make her day easier.

If all fails - just make her a card and give her a hug. She's your mother, and she'll love you REGARDLESS of the fact that you forgot about Mother's Day.

Cheers!

~Cress
