Shoto Todoroki: Origin

Normal P.O.V

The next match... is the match that's making Aya more nervous than ever. The fire in the arena lit up. "I can feel the anticipation in the stadium! And that's because the second round's first match is gonna be epic! It's the guy who won his last fight by a landslide and literally left half the audience frozen. The hero course's Shoto Todoroki!"

Todoroki steps onto the field. "And this kid almost walked out of his first matchup, but made a stunning comeback by showing off some impressive moves! Also from the hero course, Izuku Midoriya!"

Izuku stands at the other end of the field.

"So here we are," Todoroki said.

"And only one of us can win." Izuku had the most determined face.

Aya bit her thumb to contain her anxiety. "Shi-- I mean Aya. How do you think this match will go?" Iida asked her.

"Uh... It depends on whether or not Izuku is able to get in close to him." She answered. 'And if he can use One For All without breaking his bones.'

"Yeah. That's the problem. How will Deku avoid the ice?" Uraraka agreed with a hint of worry in her tone. 

"Both of the heroes-in-training have been frontrunners in the Sports Festival! But which one of these rivals will advance to the next round?"

Izuku got into a fighting stance. "Prepare for... Midoriya versus Todoroki!"

Todoroki got in his stance too.

"Begin!"

Todoroki didn't hesitate to shoot his ice barrage right at Izuku. Izuku flicked his finger sending a shot of air to break the ice. Todoroki grunts, using his arms to avoid the blast of air. 

Aya bites the top of her index knuckle seeing that the move caused Izuku to break the middle finger. 

"Wow! Midoriya managed to break Todoroki's insane opening move!"

All Might made a fist knowing this match was going to be hard for his next successor. 

Todoroki did another ice barrage. "Smash!" Izuku yells using his fingers to block it again. 

"He countered again!"

Izuku stood his ground thinking of a strategy to win. "Let's continue." Todoroki simply said. Izuku grunts countering the ice barrage with another air force. 

"Oh, no, crap! I'm missing it!" Kirishima winced as he showed up to the stands where his classmates were. 

"Hey, a nice job making it to the second round, Kirishima." Kaminari complimented him. 

Kirishima smirks. "Thanks, man. Looks like I will take down Bakugo next. " He said with a little too much confidence. 

"I'll kill you," Katsuki mutters.

Aya secretly glances at them.

Kirishima chuckles. "Heh. Yeah, sure. In your dreams. No, but, seriously. It's crazy how you and Todoroki both have moves that blast the whole stadium! Must be pretty nice." He said with a bit of admiration in his tone.

"Plus, you don't have to pause between attacks," Sero added in. 

"It's not as easy as you think, ya morons." Katsuki spat.  "If you overuse your muscles, you risk tearing them apart. If you sprint too much, you run out of breath." He tells them that wielding such power comes with a limit. "Quirks are physical abilities, too. They can get worn out. You can't use them nonstop."
