Day twelve. I was finally able to move again! Bruce hasn't woken up at all though, and Alfred is trying to see why, but an old man can't lift a 200 pound superhero like Bruce, so Alfred can't move him to the examination table. I was too weak to help him, and Dick and Tim were gone, where? I don't know. They were just gone.
Everything changed so quickly though. I had been sitting on the table, the first real movement I've made since I was able to move. I had sat up before this, if course, but it hurt too much at first. I was okay now, so I had just been sitting, debating on if I was ready to walk yet, when there was a very very bright, white, blinding light. The dark, damp cave walls were replaced by cold, grey, concrete walls. I looked around, and the first thing I noticed was the big machine on my head, that was giving me a headache and making it hard for me to hold my head up. I reached up to take the thing off, and was genuinely surprised to not be tied down to the chair thing I was on. It was kind of like an Orthodontists chair, only with the giant thing all wired up around it. I looked around me again, and saw three bloody bodies lying around, two next to each other, and one closer to a bunch of panels and buttons and keyboards. I got up out of the chair, but stumbled so badly that I fell when I tried to step towards the panels and things. The person crumpled up at the base of the panels looked so familiar, and so hurt. The other two bodies were kind of familiar, but I couldn't put a name to the not-faces. I tried to get up again, holding onto the chair like it was my lifeline, and was able to take a few more steps, before I fell again. How long had it been since I used my feet? Was this the real world? Where was Luce? I sighed in irritation at my body, and decided to crawl to the person by the panels, realizing that my feet needed lots of adjusting before they're able to be used any time soon. I moved much faster, although that wasn't saying much, and I got to the person without falling or stumbling again. I turned the person so I could see them, and gasped at the face that was looking back at me.
"Luce? Luce, come on, please don't be dead! Please, come on!" I said, not being able to yell. Tears filled my eyes, as I checked for a pulse. Relief flooded through me as her pulse was strong and, obviously, still there. Once confirming again that she was alive, I decided to go look at the other two people.
I decided to try walking again, and, luckily, I got up without too much trouble, and was able to stumble to the two other people without falling over again. I looked at them both, and saw two faces that I know I've seen. Deathstroke and Jason. Jason... I knew him! I knew something about him seemed familiar, how could I not have remembered?? Jason helped Ra's before, and he ran off with his tail between his legs after I 'killed Ra's' and started beating him up! He was only alive because of Dick. I guess this makes sense, if only a little. Why would Deathstroke be trying to kill me or whatever? I shook myself out of it, and then checked them both for a pulse. They both had one, but it was faint. I walked back to Luce, who seemed to have shifted some in her unconscious state.
I finally did what I probably should have done before I even went to see if the other two were still alive, and I looked at the screens. They showed the world I had been in, with Alfred still trying to get Bruce off of the floor. He was mumbling stuff about being too old for this stuff. He hadn't signed up for doing this without help, the same way he had been while I was there. He hadn't noticed I had disappeared, but if he did would there be any change? Why did I even care? Maybe because Luce hasn't said our signal, so I don't know if this is real or not. Speaking of Luce, I looked down at her, and saw her eyes shifting behind her eyelids.
"Luce?" I asked her, quieter than when I thought she was dead.
"E..... Em?" She said, her voice barely a whisper.
"Yea, Luce. Yea, it's me." I said, kneeling beside her and holding her hand.
"Everything hurts." She said, and I squeezed her hand a little.
