An illusion?

"Good, the plan is going well.."

*GRAY'S POV*

Huh? I swear I really thought I heard something.

"Gray, are you feeling alright?" Lucy asked while I was spacing out.

"A-Ah yeah. I'm fine." I lightly scratched my nape with a fake laugh. Sheesh, is it because of Lucy's return that is making me hear things? Nah, that doesn't make any sense.

"Ne," she tapped my shoulder, "Let's stroll around more!" While grabbing my arm and pointing at a distance.

I nodded, "Sure." I smiled at her.

Meanwhile at the guild. . .

*THIRD PERSON'S POV*

"Guys, don't you think it's weird?" Mirajane started while cleaning the wooden mugs.

Lisanna glanced at Mirajane with curious look, tilting her head a bit, "What do you mean, elder sister?" She asked.

"What she mean, was how did Lucy come back." Cana interrupted while her arms are crossed.

"Yes that's right Cana." Mira sighed, putting away the wooden mugs as she was finished, "It's been bothering me for a while now. I'm glad that she's back, but something seems off."

"You're not making any sense at all Mirajane." Natsu complained while sitting on the table. "Lucy is already back, so what's the big deal?"

"Natsu, get your head together won't you? Didn't you feel that something was off about Lucy? Like, it felt that it wasn't her." Levy shrugged.

"That's exactly what I mean..!" - Mirajane

The whitehaired can't explain due to her emotions getting mixed up, but she was a bit relieved that she wasn't the only one who noticed.

"You guys are still confusing me." Natsu scratched his head, obviously a bit ticked off.

Ignoring Natsu, Cana asked, "Should we tell this to Gray? I mean, something might happen."

Mira shook her head, "No, we shouldn't tell him. It might get him puzzled. Or worse, he might doubt us."

Everyone sighed. Then someone came running and busted through the guild's door, "Guys!!"

"What?!"

*GRAY'S POV*

I still haven't got over about what I heard earlier. What plan? And whose voice was it? It's a bit faint but it sounded like a man's voice. Though, I didn't see him. Something's off here.

"Gray, are you sure you're alright?"

Ah great. I'm spacing out again. "Yes yes, I'm okay. Sorry."

"Well if you're tired, we can always go back to the guild."

I just nodded again, while all of a sudden, I heard someone whispering again.

"I cast a spell on you.."

What is this.. I'm feeling dizzy. My head hurts.

. . . . . .

I woke up. Did I lose consciousness? Wait, where is this?

I looked around to get familiarized with the area. Huh? Is that Lucy? I can't be mistaken.

"I will. I want.. to go out with you again.."

This is the time when I left her apartment. And then when I came back..

"A-Agh."

Lucy? She has her hand on her stomach. I guess her wound still hurts by that time.

"I'm losing consciousness..." She whispered weakly.

N-No.. Is she dying..? P-Please don't. Don't leave me.

I walked up to her. I want to hold her in my arms. But before I did..

"Oh hey." She looked at me and smiled.

"L-Lucy. Please don't leave me.." I begged.

She held my hand, it's warm. She kept smiling like everything's going to be alright. "Don't worry. I won't leave you."

Tears ran down to my cheeks.

"C'mere for a sec." She said.

I did what she told me.

"...." She cupped her hand on my ear and started whispering something.

Before I knew what was she's saying-

"Gray! Please snap out of it!"

What? I shook my head. Agh, I still feel dizzy. What was that? An illusion? But, it felt so real.

I looked at Lucy, she's worried. "Jeez, don't scare me like that.."

"S-Sorry again. Should we go back?" I suggested. I kept worrying her, so we might as well return to the guild.

"Yeah." She nodded with a smile.

What is this feeling? It's really bothering me for a quite a while now..
