Frozen Heart (GrayLu Fanfic)

New Year (Part 1-1)

December 31, X790.. 

(A/N: So I heard in the actual anime & manga, the year there was X791. But I decided to put the year before that here in my fanfiction.)

The city of Magnolia is buzzing with excitement for the New Year's Eve. They're preparing the decorations on their homes.

Meanwhile in Lucy's place..

She yawned, "Man.. I can't believe I'm still tired..!" Lucy complained. She stood up and walked circles around her room.

"I love you, Lucy.."

She stopped and turned red saying, "Wh-Why did Gray c-came up o-on my mind j-just now..?!" Then she hanged her head low and giggled, "Mom.. I really can't believe I'm inlove with him." 

*knock! knock!*

"Eh? Who could that be?" Lucy asked herself.

*knock! knock!*

"Coming!!" She shouted.

She ran to the door and opened it.

"Huh? Nobody's there.. Then who-" She stopped when..

"LUCY!!!!" A creature fled fast to her.

"H-Happy?! Wh-What're you doing here? Where's Natsu?" She asked.

"Natsu's helping at the guild!" Happy answered and raised his paw(or hand xD).

"Ah I see. Then what're you doing here? Shouldn't you be helping at the guild too?" Lucy asked again.

"Uhmm.. Ehehehe.." Happy looked away, laughing fakely.

"Don't tell me you ditched them..?" She glared at him.

"N-N-No!!! I-I d-didn't!!" He shivered.

Lucy sighed, "Well I'm not busy anyway so I think I'll help out!"

"Aye sir!" Happy said.

So the two went to the guild and they were shocked that all of the members are there helping out.

"Th-This is rare.. Usually, few members are always helping out decorating the guild. But now.. A-All of them are helping out..!" Lucy spun around and smiled.

"Oh hey there Lu-chan!" Levy shouted.

"L-Levy!" Lucy waved at her.

"Hello there Lucy..!" Mirajane greeted.

"O-Oh! M-Mirajane!" Lucy waved.

"There's going to be a New Year's Parade that will be held tonight. Of course, the Master thought of this idea. Wanna join the parade?" Mirajane smiled.

"I would love to!!" Lucy shouted with joy.

"Great! But first, you need a partner to join so good luck finding one~!" Mirajane winked.

"That won't be a problem at all!" Lucy grinned.

"Alright, then I better get back to work. See you later Lucy!" Mirajane left and went back to help in decorating the guild.

"Bye Mirajane!" Lucy smiled and waved as Mirajane went back to work.

3 hours later..

Lucy looked around and she was amazed how the guild turned out. Her eyes sparkled as she looked at the guild. Then, she began to remember someone.

"That reminds me.. I haven't seen Gray all day. I wonder what he's up to." She muttered. "I better go look for him then."

She walked outside, it was pretty breezy, but Lucy didn't mind. She then saw Gray with a bunch of girls around him.

"G-Gray..?" Lucy looked at him. 

"Huh? Oh Lucy..!" Gray waved.

"What're you doing? And why're you with those girls?" Lucy stared at him with teary eyes.

"N-No! I-It's just a misunderstanding!! They just walked towards me and they just uhh.." Gray scratched his head.

"So that's how it is..." Lucy hanged her head low. Her vision started to blur as she starts to cry. "I HATE YOU GRAY!" She ran further away while she's crying.

"L-Lucy.." Gray gritted his teeth. He regretted that Lucy misunderstood because he can't explain the situation properly.

"So that's your girlfriend Gray-kun?" One of the girls asked him.

"Just leave her and be with me Gray~!" Another girl held Gray's arm as if she's trying to seduce him.

"SHUT UP!" Gray shouted, "If it wasn't for you.. Lucy wouldn't be like that.!"

"Ugh! What's wrong with you? Come on girls, let's go." 

The girls started to walk away.

"I have to apologize to her.." Gray said to himself. 

Meanwhile at the guild..

"Lucy? What's wrong? Did you and Gray-sama fight again?" Juvia asked.

"H-Huh? It's nothing Juvia.." Lucy fake smiled.

"A-Are you sure Lucy?" A worried look appeared on Juvia's face.

"Mhmm." Lucy nodded. "I'll be okay. Don't worry."

"I-If you say so." Juvia said.

"I can't let Juvia know that I got mad at Gray earlier. Or she'll get enraged again." Lucy said to herself.

(A/N: In this part, I made Lucy and Juvia best friends instead of being rivals-in-love, since Juvia is in love with Lyon.)

"Lucy!!" A girl comes running towards her.

"Oh, what is it Wendy?" She asked.

"G-Gray-san said to me that I should give this to you.." Wendy lent a tiny box while she's panting.

-FLASHBACK-

"I guess this will do." Gray muttered.

"Gray-san?" Wendy called out of curiosity.

"Oh Wendy! Perfect timing. Could you give this to Lucy?" Gray gave a tiny box to Wendy. "I can't seem to face her right now." He looked away.

"Did you and Lucy-san fight again?" Wendy asked with a concerned look.

"I-It was a misunderstanding.. I will never betray Lucy. I really love her.. But she hates me now.. I-I can't even.." Gray began to cry.

"G-Gray-san.. Don't worry, I'll give this to Lucy-san for sure." Wendy smiled.

"Thank you Wendy." Gray wiped his tears and smiled back.

-END OF FLASHBACK-

"H-He said that..?" Lucy asked.

"Yes. Gray-san regretted the fact that you hate him now. And he couldn't face you because you might hate him even more.." Wendy hanged her head low.

Lucy opened the tiny box, she began crying because of what she saw inside. There's a ice-shaped heart, saying:

"I'M SORRY LUCY.. I LOVE YOU."

"Wh-Where is Gray? I need to find him.." Lucy asked once more.
