I take a deep breath, inhale, exhale. I am standing in front of Greene Internationals, one of the richest companies in the world. It's rumored that the head of the company is in his early 20's and that he is the finest bachelor anyone will have the pleasure to meet.
I applied to be a secretary and today is my first day. I am wearing a black pencil skirt that stops right above my knee, a black blazer and black heels. My chocolate brown hair is up in a high neat bun and I have a gray bag on my arm.
I stare at the building in front of me. It's huge.
I walk through the doors and feel a gush of cold air. Much better than the temperature outside.I am welcomed by a man who looks like he is around his early 30's.
"You must be Chloe Adams, I'm James," he says shaking my hand.
"Nice to meet you," I smile at him.
Glancing around the lobby I realize everyone is in business mode, professional, cold and strict.
"Please follow me," he gestures to the elevator, "Mr. Greene, would like to see you straight away in his office."
"Mr. Greene? The head of Greene Internationals?" I fumble with my fingers nervously. I thought that I was working for someone else, someone less intimidating. But why does his last name sound so familiar?
"Yes, he is in his office at the end of the hall," James says as we arrived on the highest floor. I nod at him and say a quick thank you.
I could already feel my palms sweating. I walk through the hall and stop in front of a black door. I take a few deep breaths and knock on the door.
"Come in," a deep voice says.
I push the big door open and see a guy, who I think is Mr. Greene, standing there with his back turned towards me. He is tall and has as far as I can see and feel, a powerful vibe around him.
"Sit down," he orders so I obey and go to sit on the chair in front of me.
He turns around and I can't hide my surprise. That's why I recognized the name of the company, Alec Greene.
"Chloe, is that you?" for a second he looks surprised and maybe even hurt, but it might have been my imagination because when I look at his face again, he is smirking.
"Hello, my name is Chloe, Chloe Adams," I hope he won't see any sign of recognition in my eyes.
~Alec's POV~
There she is, the girl who left me on graduation day, the girl who broke my heart. I still don't understand why she left so suddenly and why she left without a goodbye.
"Hello, my name is Chloe, Chloe Adams," she says looking me straight in the eye. She definitely changed, but I don't know if it's in a good or bad way.
And I don't know why she's acting so hostile, but she's not the only one who can act like this."Mr. Greene," I give her a curt nod, "now as your first assignment I want you to write down every single word I say and after that I want you to translate it into German and French, got it?"
"But I don't kn-"
"It would be a pleasure to..." I begin, cutting of her sentence. I keep on talking and watch as she pulls out a notebook and a pen. She shoots me an annoyed look.
I finish of my sentence," ...thank you."
I look down at what she wrote. "I said to write every single word, that's not barely half of it," I say getting annoyed.
"You didn't even give me time to grab a notebook and a pen," she mumbles.
"If I tell you to do something, I expect you to do it." I scream at her.
"But that doesn't matter because I recorded everything you said on here and here," she says calmly showing me a voice recorder and her phone.
"Get out, and hand me the translated version in half an hour," I sit back in my chair and continue my work on my computer, completely ignoring her complaints.
This is going to be very interesting...
