"Chloe, I haven't seen you in years," She says hugging me. I stand still and say nothing. All the wounds that I thought were healed, are opening up again. And her being here, hugging me, is like salt on my wounds. She takes a couple steps back and looks me up and down. "You look different, are you doing well?"
"Of course I am doing well, why do you ask?"
"Oh," she waves off my response. "You just look a bit, I don't know. How do I put this nicely?"

I narrow my eyes at her, it's hard to keep my temper under control. In the corner of my eye I see that Alec is thoroughly enjoying this.

"You look horrible, there I said it. I'm sorry Chloe, but you have to admit you look like you dress in the dark and don't even get me started on your hair. I can help you if you want, you're not that much of a hopeless cause."

I send her a fake smile. Still the same judgmental person she was in high school, oh how I missed her.

"How nice as your offer sounds, I have to decline. And for your information, Alec gave me this dress to wear. So the only person who needs your fashion advice is the person standing beside you."

"Ha, burn." Vanessa says loudly and she shoots me a proud smile. I look back at Sarah and see that she's practically fuming. Alec is glaring at me and I smile back at both of them.

Mrs. Greene claps her hands, pulling all of us out of the confrontation that just took place.

"Dinner is ready, let's go to the dining room."

I end up sitting next to Mrs. Greene on my left side and with Vanessa on my right side. Mr. Green is sitting across of Mrs. Greene, Sarah is sitting across of me and Alec across of Vanessa.

"Chlo, darling, isn't there a bit too much food on your plate. I mean you can afford to eat a bit less."

"Sarah, sweetie, I am perfectly fine with how I look. Thank you for your concern about my weight though."
I try to not let her words get to me, but I can already feel them permanently settling in the back of my mind.

"Are you sure, I mean that dress shows all the wrong curves. If you want to wear tight clothes, then at least make sure you look good in them. I mean look at m-"

"That's enough, Sarah." Alec suddenly barks. Shocking everyone with his outburst.

Sarah glances nervously at him, then regains her posture and her fake smile is plastered back on her face.
She looks at me while saying, "Al, why don't we tell everyone about our surprise now.
I mean, everyone who we care about is sitting right here." She bats her eyelashes and sends him a what's supposed to be a seductive smile.
Alec sends me a quick glance and an emotion I can't quite decipher flashes in his eyes. But before I can figure it out, it disappears and his face contorts back into a smirk.
"Sure."
Sarah squeals and stands up from the table.
"Me and Al ar-"

"You mean Alec and I," interrupts Vanessa.
I stifle a chuckle.

"Al and I," she looks pointedly at Vanessa, "Are going to get married," she squeals again.
"He proposed to me last week." She shows off her perfectly manicured finger which is adorned by an expensive looking ring.

I look to my left and see that Mr. and Mrs. Greene both stare at the couple with flabbergasted looks. Vanessa on the other hand looks pissed.

Mr. Greene is the first one to snap out of it," Son, are you sure this is what you really want?"

Sarah answers for him, "Of course Al is sure, I mean I am the best thing that has ever happened to him." She flashes me a bright smile.
That definitely hurt.

Slowly recovering from the shock Mrs. Green asks, "When is the wedding?"

"In five months."

"Isn't that way too short to plan a wedding?"

"No, because Al here. Promised me we will hire the best wedding planner ever. Didn't you, Al?"

"Yeah, sure whatever."

I softly sing to myself, "Prince Ali! Fabulous he! Ali Ababwa
Genuflect, show some respect
Down on one knee!"

"Why are you singing that song?" Sarah glares at me.

"Hmm? Oh. Sorry, you kept on calling him Al. So that made me think of that song," I smile sheepishly.

Everyone is chuckling at me, they all know about my Disney obsession, well except for Sarah. She keeps on glaring at me, but then her expression changes to a fake smile.
"I just got the best idea ever!"

I look anxiously at Vanessa, what has she come up with now. Vanessa just shrugged and mouths that she has no idea what Sarah has come up with.

"Chlo, darling, I want you to be my maid of honor."
