Bo Chapter: Chasing The Dream

Chapter 6

**After Mrs. Ruby passed. Chase had a small funeral for her. Chase went into a black hole of isolation, depressions and hard drinking. He started abusing pain pills (That had been prescribe to his mother). Which made Chase lose touch with reality just zoned out all the time. Malik and Eric came home for the funeral to be with Chase. He put on a good front while at the funeral. So, Malik and Eric decided that ever weekend they will come home from college to check up on Chase. But Chase made his self unavailable ever time. For three months straight after Mrs. Ruby's passed Chase avoided them he never came to the door never answered their phone calls or text messages. One day Malik and Eric decided to break into Chase's house because they were desperate to know if Chase was alive, because they hadn't heard for him since Mrs. Ruby funeral. Chase heard someone breaking in so he grabbed his gun and started shooting. Malik and Eric yell out to me "Chase it's us bruh please". Chase realized it was them he shouted for them to get the hell out or he would keep shooting until he emptied the clip.

**After that situation Chase neglected the house and his life. Mrs. Ruby took out a life insurance policy on herself that Chase is the beneficiary on. But Chase hasn't been taking care of the necessary responsibility around the house. His not even aware that Mrs. Ruby took out one and named him the beneficiary. They house still looks the way she left it. He didn't want to get rid of anything. He wanted things to be the way they've always been. Mrs. Ruby had an Estate that Chase as yet to establish to cover Mrs. Ruby expenses. Creditors call and Chase just sits back and ignores it all.

**One day Chase got a notice in the mail about overdue property taxes that he ignored. Another notice came and Chase ignored that one. Finally, a for sale sign showed up in the yard they told Chase he had an outstanding balance that needed to be paid. And he had two weeks to get it done, or the house would be lost. Reality finally set in for him and he started to look around and he realized he needed money, and he needed it now. Mrs. Ruby house is paid off however the property taxes are overdue on the house and Chase eithers pays or gets put out. This sends Chase into a deeper tailspin.

**Present**

** It's a little after 2:00 in the morning. The clubs are letting out. Chase has been stalking a gas station attendant for a couple of days. So, Chase has decided to rob him once he closes the store for the night. Chase knows the attendant keeps a lot of money on him because he works the corners selling drugs. Chase put his mask on and has on all black ready to attack.

**The gas station worker is leaving and locking up and Chase makes sure the coast is clear and jumps out the car. Points the gun at the guy.

Chase (mad) Give me the fucking money!!!!

Worker (mad) You bitch ass nigga trying to rob me.

**Chase hits the guy with the gun on his shoulder. The guy stumbles and holds his shoulder.

Worker - Aah shit what the hell.

Chase (mad) Shut the fuck up and give me the money muthafucka.

***The worker reluctantly hands Chase about 500 hundred dollars. Chase pockets the money but is pissed. Because he knows there is more.

Chase (mad) Do you want me to blow your brains outs I know you got more than that, Bitch I've been watching your stupid ass where the FUCK IS THE REST OF THE MONEY!!!!

**Chase start roughing the guy up punching him until he falls to the ground and out of nowhere a pedestrian comes behind Chase snatching his mask off. Chase starts firing his gun to get them off of him and he gets back in his car, grabs his mask and drives away.

Chase drives home thinking - WHAT THE FUCK DID I JUST DO, WHY DID HE NOT GIVE ME ALL THE MONEY!!!

**Chase starts banging the steering wheel and constantly checking his mirrors to see if he's being followed.
