Amy Stuart, a kind girl who had just been released from her sixth form. She was not volunteering at a cat shelter that had recently been opened in her area. It was called 'feline sanctuary' which made sense as the cats there were treated rather nicely compared to other shelters. It was under the same supervision as the dog shelter across the street which had been eyeing up the residence since two thousand and ten. Both shelters despised each other and was at constant rivalry.

Amy sat down behind the shelters reception waiting for the five people who had booked appointments to meet the cats. She had a bagel to the side of her smothered in a load of butter and was working on the computer in-front of her. She replied to a few emails that had been sent to her and then got a notification from the business group-chat.

Amy looked up to see a very smiley Grace walking towards her. "Who is this new guy then?" Amy asked looking past the computer in-front of her. "Well, apparently his name is Ace and he's absolutely gorgeous!" Grace looks back at her friend whilst trying to hide blush from her rose coloured cheeks. Another one of Graces many work crushes, when does that girl stop? Amy rolled her eyes after hearing her friends news and went back to what she was doing before.
The door chimed and Amy looked towards the blue stained window. A tall stranger about six foot three, brown hair and blue eyes. She wasn't going to gawk over his facial features for long as her eyes drifted down to the tight-fit pink shirt with an emblem on it. She looked at the emblem, it was the company across the street. "Excuse me I don't think you're in the right building." She said kindly towards the man who had walked in. "No I'm in the right one," he replied smug and stubborn. "But you work across the road, see?" She pointed out of the blue tinted window towards the company with the matching uniform to his. "I know."
"Then why are you still here?"
"I just wanted to check out the competition." He smiled at Amy turning his body slightly from the window to her. "Right we'll now you've seen it you can leave." She stands up from her chair and walks around the desk. "It's a shame there wasn't much to see." He gives her a wink and walks out of the door leaving it open ajar. "Fucking prick!" Amy mumbles to herself as she makes her way over to the door to shut it herself. "Ugh men." She fake gags and sets out to tidy up the area before guests were due to arrive.

The families arrive with either little ones or just themselves and are brought to where the cats are kept. A large playroom fitted with litter boxes, beds, feeding stations and anything a cat could possibly need. All the clients had to do was pick out the perfect cat for them, which was easier for the kids rather than the adults. A small tug on the back of Amy's shirt sent her turning around to be met with a little boy behind her. "Hello," she smiled toward the little man. "Can you get her down for me?" The boy asks pointing to a cat on top of one of the tallest cat posts. "Of course I can!" She got up and reached for the cat and had noticed it was a very shy one and was unsure whether the cat would like the boy or not. She placed it down with the boy and he went to pet it immediately. At first the cat backed up back towards the post, yet soon after it found itself attention craving the boys pets.
At the end of the day there had been at least seven successful adoptions and two cats had been noticed frequently. Amy packed up her belongings and closed the shelter after giving the keys to the night-shift workers. She went to the company shared office to add In the statics from today. When walking past the rival's residence she turned her head to see a familiar face glancing back at her. A confused look tan itself across Amy's face and she turned back to head into the office doors. Footsteps from behind were heard and she carried on walking towards the small room on the far right of the block. She got in and hid herself behind the door to find if she was being followed or not. The door knob twisted and a foot stepped inside. Whoever it was, was met with a slap across the face from Amy as she stood in the way of the door. "What the fuck!" A voice yelled. Amy opined up her squinted eyes to see the same man from the window and from earlier today. "Oh it's you," Amy sighed with relief as she wouldn't of known what to do after the slap. "Yeah it's me, came to report adoptions."
"Well don't follow me directly next time."
"How else am I supposed to know where to go?"
"I could of gone somewhere different."
"Yeah, you were going to the closet to shag someone," he snarled sarcastically and looked Amy up and down. "I could of been."
"You're acting like you could."
"You don't think I can?"
"I know you can't."
"You don't know me." Amy backed up and turned her body to write down the number of adoptions. "I bet you've only had two today." He grabbed a price of paper to write down his. Amy looked over to his to see the number six. She smirked to herself and was caught by the man beside her. "What are you laughing at?" He said with offence taken from her laughing. She held up the sheet in front of her and smirked. "You really don't know me."
