It's a tale as old as any other.
Did you realize I was too strange, too vibrant a being for you?
Did you realize that you will never compare to me?
I do not speak of grades, nor looks (though I far outweigh you here, too).
I speak of life.
For while I am living,
You are studying.
While I am living,
You are doing nothing but wasteful things.
While I live,
You will be stuck.
Stuck here in this small town I know
You never plan to leave.
But I want to see it all.
I want everything in life
And you want nothing at all but what is expected of you.
You are too afraid to disappoint.
I am not.
I am only afraid of disappointing myself,
That at the end of it all, I will look back and say,
Where did my years go?
And why were they wasted?
