A/N, So sorry for the delay, I just started a bunch of my college classes, and I was trying to work out my workload. Again so sorry; I'll try to update more in the future. Alright, no more excuses; onto the story.
Meg POV
I awoke from recharge with a tense feeling in my back strut. I won't prolong the announcement, however, because I do not wish for this war to continue any longer than it must. So I heaved myself up to a sitting position and slowly rolled my helm to revive some of the tension that had gathered there. Taking a moment to inhale, I thought about the possible responses my crew might have, the most meddlesome one, Starscream, is out of the way; however, there are still a few vehicons that may have a negative reaction to the war ending. They could be dealt with, then Cybertron will be restored, and I may spend the rest of my days by Optimus. A smile crept onto my face, and I quickly shook my head. No, time to think about that now, I must drastically change the course of this war.
Rising from my berth, I stepped into the hallways of the Nemesis and made my way to the bridge. Upon arriving, I saw Soundwave, well at work, and a few vehicons scattered about, fussing over their different jobs at control consoles. As I stepped through the doors, all heads turned to me and bowed, a common practice on the Nemesis; however, this time, it made a heavy pit form in my tank. Pushing this feeling aside, I confidently walked to my command center in the middle of the bridge and turned to face those on the bridge with me.
I looked at Soundwave, and he nodded. I lifted my shoulders and announced to the room, "Decepticons, I bring news that will forever change this war." All movement halted and turned to me with great interest; once I was sure my message was being broadcast all over the Nemesis and energon mines beyond, I began again. "As you are aware, this war has taken many things, our precious time, comfort, security, and most importantly, the life of our home. Because of this disastrous losses over the many millennia this war has raged, I have reconsidered my role in this war." I paused, and mummers began to rush through those present. I only took a moment more to hesitate, and perhaps I was trying to calm the rapid beating of my spark. "It is with my power as leader to the Decepticons to inform you that the war is over." That caused quite a stir amongst the crew, "As of yesterday, I have made a truce with Optimus Prime to end this war." Again, another stir among those gathered. "If any oppose and wish to keep fighting, you will be escorted to the holding cell and wait until a proper prison is built on Cybertron." A hush fell over the bridge. "My word is final, and any caught fighting the Autobots from this point forward will be persecuted as traitors. I highly suggest any who oppose surrender now to save themselves from being hunted down." And with that, the video feed died, and something happened that I almost did not comprehend initially. Cheering from the vehicons. I overheard a few exclaiming how invigorating it was for the war to end. I allowed myself an exhale of relief and looked once more at Soundwave, and he projected a smiley face on his visor. I almost chuckled at that; almost, instead, I let a smile appear on my face as I shook my head at his antics.
I then left the bridge, making my way to the lab where Shockwave had no doubt heard my announcement. On my way, I passed Knockout, who stopped to tell me how I handled the information masterfully. I commented on how those "pretty words" would be better suited for courting rather than his leader. He seemed flustered, quickly apologized, and scampered off. I smirked at his over-the-top behavior and continued on my original path.
Upon reaching the door to Shockwave's lab, I entered swiftly to find him working diligently on a datapad. His head turned to me, and he put the datapad down on a nearby table and turned his full attention toward me. "Lord Megatron." He greeted me; I nodded and said, "Do you now understand why I questioned your loyalty?" He nodded and replied, "I understand, although I wonder why you had to question my loyalty on this matter." I debated telling him, but I if wish to make a new future for Cybertron, I must change my ways. "The Autobots where concerned with your reaction to the war's end." He took a moment to process, then responded, "Logical. I do not argue with rejoining as one society again." Now that caught me off, guard. "There are certain things I miss about working on Cybertron, and I will put no debate with the Autobots." I nodded, expressed some form of gratitude, and walked out of the lab.
I returned to the bridge and informed Optimus that the crew had taken it well. He stated some of the Autobots did not trust us and that I did not blame them. I offered some of our energon as a symbol of peace. Optimus replied that would be excellent. I sent a set of neutral coordinates to meet at. I sent my request to Soundwave, and he nodded and opened a portal to one of our energon mines. I informed the closest vehicons to fetch a few carts of energon to exchange with the Autobots, and they acknowledged me and hurried off. Once three carts of energon cubes were gathered, I requested another ground bridge to the neutral location. I walked through first the carts behind me.
Optimus, Ratchet, Bumblebee, and Bulkhead greeted me. I stepped aside to allow the carts to go through, and they were wordlessly exchanged from my vehicons to the Autobots. Once the Autobots had possession of the carts, the vehicons retreated through the ground bridge, and I followed, giving Optimus a respectful nod as I turned, solidifying the war's end.
