Back To School

I jump hearing a baby scream and cry aswell as a woman sobbing. I rub my eyes and quickly exit my blankets, knowing what's happening. I step into Ian's room, "It's okay mom, I got it. I got it. " I kneel down in front of my mom. She'd sat down on the floor trying to feed Ian his milk directly from the bottle. "4 hours Fiona, he won't stop crying! I'm trying so hard, baby. " She repeats. "I know, I know. Give him to me, sweet momma. I know. It's okay, I'm here. " I reassure, mom gently hands him to me. I take him in my hands, shooshing him as I straddle his tad body. Mom sniffles and continueasly sobs, "I'm trying, my sweet Fiona. I'm trying so hard. " I tear up at her repeated words, I bounce him in my hands as I slowly enter the bottle into his trembled mouth. "Mom, I know your feeling sad right now but I need you to please stay quiet. " I nod at her and she nods back in response, sniffling and wiping her nose with her wrist.

I feed him the bottle, bouncing him in my hands. I kiss his forehead before straddling him into the crib. He coo's before slowly drifting off. I help mom off the floor and direct her to her bedroom. "It's okay, mom. He's trying to get use to you. " I smile and nod. She exhales and breathes. "That's right. Breathe, momma. Breathe. " I rub her back and whisper. She covers herself with her silked blanket. "Have your time and sleep, momma. Philip is asleep too. " I smile before kissing her forehead and leave her room to get ready for school.

Lately, mom has been struggling alot. Ive been having a lot on my hands and didn't go to school for 2 weeks. Veronica and Rue have been coming over to do the school work with me as they told the teachers I've needed to work at home for family reasons. I guess they understanded and sent my school work to Rue and V. But today, I'm gonna go. I hope into the shower before getting ready. I quickly dry off as I brush my teeth, shining my pearls in the mirror.

I sigh and head out of the door, hair half down and half up with a casual outfit. "Hey Fi! " Brooklyns smiles and waves at me across the fence around my yard. I smile and wave at her before going down to grab her hand as we walk to school. I slightly smile the whole way, not knowing how to feel to leave my mom home alone with her 2 babies. I exhale a long breathe, "What's wrong? " Brooklyn asks as I frown. "Oh, just family issues. " I nod and smile once again as I lie in front of her face. "Are you sure..?" She questions, eyebrow raised. "Mhm." I mumbling, smiling as I watch my feet move along with Brooklyns.

I bounce my leg, having first hand anxiety. I look down at my history work, not knowing what to do. I feel some eyes on me but ignore them, hoping they'd get the hint. I cover my face with my hand. Idk what in going to do if I can't be away from my family for 8 hours. It's only been 4 and I'm freaking out.

"Hey sweetheart, been awhile. " A similar looking metal guy speaks behind me. I turn around and quizzes him with a confused expression. "It was Fiona. Fiona Gallagher? You know me as Eddie or 'the freak'. " he smirks and nods, looking me up and down. "Oh uh, hey. Yeah I've been gone for family reasons. Shit is crazy back home. " I shake my head and chuckle, looking up at the oddly and extremely tall man. "Yeah, me too doll. Wish I could escape without worrying bout my poor uncle. " Eddie chuckles as well. Of course a guy like him would have problems at home. "Maybe I could bring you out sometime, get your mind off of things. " He shrugs. "No, no uh sorry but I'm not looking forward to anyone right now.. " I rub my eyes.

"Oh come on sweetheart, I'll show you what you could look forward to. " he'd flash a smirk down at me. "Look man, I said I'm not forward to right now. " I giggle and shake my head. I'm just hungry and want to get to my friends. "Come on. We can be the thing you look forward to. " He touches my cheek, circling it with his thumb. "Eddie. I'm sorry but I have so many things on my hands. " I remove his hand from my cheek but he refuses.

"Eddie, please stop. " I try to remove his extremely tough hand away from my face. "Eddie, dude get the fuck away from her! " Jacky walks up as well with Brooklyn. Jacky removes his hand away from my bubble, seemingly Brooklyn and Jacky are as tough and tall as Eddie. "Jesus, sorry. You smothering your lips together or something? " he scoffs, looking Jacky up and down. She chuckles and looks down, tensing her jaw not to beat the shit out of Eddie. "No, but I am. " She replies, looking down at me before looking at Eddie's smothering face. He shakes his head in annoyence before he walks off.

"What a dick. " I mumble under my breath. "Yeah, he's such a dick. Been a dick since 1st grade" Jacky scoffs. I laugh, "He's got it comin. " Brooklyn spats. "Thanks." I say before smiling at them. "Hey guys!! " Rue giggles from across the lunch room. I look up at Brooklyn and then a very out of consciousness Jacky. I watch as she stares at Rue in absolute fluster. "Anyways and she was like, no way-" Rue says, rambling on about a gossip she heard down the haul 3 minutes ago. I giggle as I watch Jacky watch Rue. Brooklyn judges my shoulder then direct her eyes to Rue and Brooklyn. "I know. " I whisper, giggling away. "Eddie was storming off like 2 minutes ago as I was walking here. " Rue gossips. "Yeah, that dick sad trying to get in my pants by asking me out. " I shake my head as I cross my arms across my chest. "I fucking hate that man. He tried taking me out a year ago and I said hell to the fuckin no. " Rue chuckles, shaking her hand up in the air.

I giggle and walk over to the empty lunch table near the parties. We both start gossiping to each other as Brooklyn and Jacky laugh and do stupid shit to each other.
